Ed Orgeron was 104.5 ESPN's "Off the Bench" Tuesday morning and talked about quarterback Myles Brennan who will finally take charge of LSU's offense in 2020 as a starter.

Here's what he had to say:
quote:

"He has sat patiently... him and his family," Orgeron said. "They have believed in LSU. I told them we believe in Myles. Now it's his time."

"We believe that he is very talented but there are some things that he has to get better at but Joe (Burrow) had to get better his first year too and continue to grow. Like I said before, all we want is the best Myles Brennan and that's going to be good enough for us.

Favorite part of that highlight film is all of the quantity of backup QB highlights we have against SEC opponents

Yea but those passes were accurate and he was still under pressure during those accurate throws so that’s promising no matter who he’s playing. That type of accuracy with the arm strength is a gift. He could be slightly more calm in the pocket but he used it well and delivered strikes. I would work on that a lot this offseason, as well as throwing while on the run under pressure. Like the above said, he’s throwing to our second and third string also.

Poised. Knows where he wants to go with the ball and delivers a strike. Not afraid to pull it down and get some yards. Add Chase, Marshall, McMath, Palmer, Price, Emery, Curry, Gilbert, and the rest. We are going to move the chains and score some points.

Earlier in the year, his passes were to open receivers that were all but stationary and squatting on routes. As the year progressed, he was hitting them more in stride and even throwing them open. I think he will be a better than average QB, especially with the talent he is throwing to, but he won't be a JB. But in his defense, NOBODY has or probably will be for some time.

Finley is a project my man. At best. Some of don't know anything about what you are talking about. Brennan is a top quality QB and anybody who thinks a QB right out of high school is going to understand the offense and start at LSU is just kidding himself.
