Ed Orgeron Comments On Kenan Jones Transferring, Pecking Order At Safety

LSU sophomore safety Kenan Jones announced Thursday that he has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal and will likely be moving on to another school.

Head coach Ed Orgeron met with the media on after practice Thursday and was asked if he talked with Jones about his decision.

"I did not," Orgeron said. "He decided to go into the transfer portal and we wish him the best."

When asked if that was normal:
"Sometimes. Sometimes they go to administration and they want to enter the transfer portal. Sometimes they come talk to me. That's their choice, not mine. It's the world we're living in."

On the pecking order at safety with Jones no longer available:
"You will see a lot of Kary Vincent, obviously. We have to play those three guys, Kary, Delpit, and Jacoby."
