LSU inside linebacker Devin White met with the media on Monday and had some strong comments about how players on the team need to step up in order for the Tigers to get better.

White said he takes responsibility for the inside linebacker group and challenges those guys to watch extra film so that they are more comfortable on Saturday's. He also added that some players don't understand what it means to be an LSU Tiger.

Devin White is the best player on this team. Major props to him for calling out his teammates lack of effort.

White and Lawrence are tops on defense. I also have really enjoyed watching Greedy and Ed Alexander and at times, Corey Thompson. Problem is lots of weaknesses otherwise and many of the best players are hurt all the time.

After this year #18 crap should be retired. Change tradition to #40.

This young man is the brightest spot on that defense. He has played at a championship level and LSU is damn lucky to have him.

You sir are one of the only kids on this team that puts forth effort, everybody else outside of a few people just lollie gag around when the ball is snapped with no emotion whatsoever..Just know no matter what the outcome is that you gave it your all

Holy shite. White is a great dude. He's gonna make a one hell of an NFL player one day, on and off the field.

Because he's a sophomore - he'll absolutely be a candidate next year showing this kind of leadership.

I wonder if you can create a case of this being a reflection on O. That actually further proves a point that was made that O was primarily passionate about LSU when the right $$$ was in front of him.

Devin has been special since day 1. I remember those massive hits he put on special teams and how easily and often he got to the returner. And just new he was gonna be the guy. He really reminds me of minter. Just always in place and doing his job. Except Devin hits harder and is several steps faster.

I knew I liked this dude for a reason... But this is exactly what I was afraid of... Our young guys just don't know what it is about to be an LSU Tiger! I'm so glad to hear White say this. I'm so glad it was White who said it. The problem with the turnover into the NFL is they do not have many guys who stick around to instill that work ethic, attitude, and leadership that this team so desperately desires right now. This is as young of a team as I can remember. The guys that with all the clout, moxie, and leadership are in the NFL. We are relying on Arden Key (who looks like he gives 0 fricks) and a bunch of guys who have never really had to be an "LSU Tiger" to teach the younger guys how to do something they really have no experience of actually doing themselves. (I will admit, I did not give Leslie enough credit for keep the team together year in and year out even with all of the turnaround.) I guess, until recently, I thought that talent could over come bad coaching on the field of competition... I stand corrected on that topic.
