Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports
Earlier this week, LSU running back revealed that he was asked about his sexuality and whether or not he liked men during one of his team interviews at the NFL Combine last week. Per USA Today:
quote:

’It was pretty crazy," Guice said in an interview on the SiriusXM NFL show Late Hits. "Some people are really trying to get in your head and test your reaction. ... I go in one room, and a team will ask me do I like men, just to see my reaction. I go in another room, they’ll try to bring up one of my family members or something and tell me, 'Hey, I heard your mom sells herself. How do you feel about that?’ "
On Thursday, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy sent an email to ProFootballTalk to condemn the practice.
quote:

“A question such as that is completely inappropriate and wholly contrary to league workplace policies. The NFL and its clubs are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees in a manner that is consistent with our commitment to diversity and inclusion, state and federal laws and the CBA. We are looking into the matter.”

“The league annually reminds clubs of these workplace policies that prohibit personnel from seeking information concerning a player’s sexual orientation.”

My guess they were seeing if he could keep his mouth shut and keep things out of the press. He failed.

Wrong, they were testing his reaction and composure to inappropriate/sensitive topics. How you answer and react is what they are looking at. Will he blow up and get irate, raising his voice while slamming his palm or will he casually dismiss the topics and push for more appropriate questions.

Just more evidence of what the NFL really is. Garbage. How does that line of questioning determine anything about his ability to run the damn ball.

I think its more along the lines of could he keep in-house stuff in house. Apparently he cant. So he might be more willing to spill locker room problems

Hell I was asked by the federal government back in 1989 when applying for a job, have I ever performed beastiality? Do you reckon that still occurs today when applying for any job?

Rather than make it a social justice crusade, how about you just say it's douchey to ask questions like that?

Yeah, just release a statement saying it’s “douchey.” You’ve got a future in media relations

Really, WTF is this? How do these questions "test his reaction?" Garbage human being asking especially the second question Guice noted. Another drop in the ocean of reasons not to watch the NFL.

I don't agree with the questions, but to answer your question. Maybe the first is to see how excepting he is of homosexuals in the case that one of his future teammates is one. If he gets very offended and upset by the question maybe it shows them more about his feelings than if they just asked "how do you feel about playing with homosexuals?..." The second question is pretty hard to defend, but maybe it was to see if he would get angry / want to fight. Just trying to hit the strongest nerve to see how he would respond? Still bull shite questions all around though.
