Bruce Feldman with Fox Sports recently wrote an article titled "The Top 10 most eye-opening performances of bowl season," which included LSU's defensive front.

The mix of young and veteran LSU defensive lineman was able to pressure Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes all night long and recorded six sacks in the Tigers 56-27 rout in the Texas Bowl.

A key piece of that defensive front is outstanding LSU freshman end Arden Key who coach Ed Orgeron gave high praise to in Feldman's article:
quote:

"I've never had a guy like this," Orgeron told FOX Sports Monday of the 6-6, 231-pounder. Orgeron also produced Top-10 pick Leonard Williams, but he was more of a 3-Technique and not like Key. "Arden's so fast and long, and instinctive and smart. He's also tough as nails. Hardy was stronger but not as fast or fluid like this guy. Wait till he gets to 250 (pounds)."
Can't wait Coach...

Is it the consensus that he will transfer to a 3-4 OLB/DE? I feel like he has the ability to do it.

Can September get here fast enough? I don't think I've had this fever a week after the season ended.

Key's transformation in the semester/summer before enrolling was impressive enough. And that was without a D1 level strength and conditioning/nutrition help.

Key already has the on the field abilities and certainly the genetics to see monster results in the weightroom. Put those together and things are just gonna get silly.
