Carole Baskin Of ‘Tiger King’ Blasts Jeff Landry For Bringing Live Tiger To Tiger Stadium

Just when you thought the story of Omar The Tiger was coming to an end, Carole Baskin from the 'Tiger King' documentary on Netflix entered the conversation on Monday.

Baskin, the CEO of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary in Tampa, Fla., spoke with TMZ and slammed Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry for bringing a live Tiger from Florida to Tiger Stadium for the Alabama game last Saturday.

Landry then resorted to bringing a tiger from Florida ... which irked Baskin for several reasons.

"Bringing a live tiger to a football game is quite possibly a violation of the federal Lacey Act and Louisiana's own dangerous animal laws, and it also sends the wrong message to students about respect for wildlife," the "Tiger King" star said. "Trucking a wild animal all the way from central Florida for a spectacle is a blatant disregard for the tiger's well-being and reinforces the dangerous idea that nature exists solely for our entertainment."

"The questions that you and the public should be asking are if the office of Governor Jeff Landry, the Tiger Athletic Fund, or the LSU Police Department spent taxpayer money or failed in acquiring the necessary permits just to satisfy the governor's desire to see a tiger in the stadium, since Mike the Tiger (their campus mascot) hates going to the games," Baskin added.

I find all of this interesting. When PETA started their bullshite and was ultimately the cause for mike no longer coming to the stadium, everyone, universally, was angry over that. Many stats were brought up, like he only got in the cage if he wanted to. Longevity of mike, and the care he received. 9 years go by and EVERYONE is on PETA's side. Quite the turn in less than a decade.

Omar looked like he tolerated his time in the stadium just fine. I saw no hint of distress whatsoever. Much like the idiot writer who started all of this nonsense with an article about distressing Mike, now Carol Baskin is getting her 15 minutes talking about how Mike and Omar are somehow harmed by this, despite no evidence that she’s even met Mike or Omar, been to Tiger Stadium herself, or has any real clue about whether or not either Tiger actually suffered by this tradition.

Again…this is just desperate people looking for clicks at the expense of LSU, a school whose traditions they care nothing about. Can anyone show me any evidence whatsoever that Omar actually is worse for the wear now?
