The first one was a result 100% of the penalty being committed. If horse collar doesn't happen it is a first down maybe more. The second one was all on Nuss it was a terrible choice to throw. He was baited and never the second defender. The hit on Nuss was absolutely a penalty by the rule, if anyone says otherwise they are being blind or dishonest. I don't think Nuss sold the push. He never saw it coming and wasn't ready for it and was caught unprepared and off balance. The call was a 50/50 thing. Sometimes it is called sometimes it is not. Lucky for LSU it was called. SC can cry all they want but they were also gifted 7 points from the blocked punt. That absolutely was a penalty but you don't hear them even mention it.

if that were true, i think it unlikely he would fuss at the refs like he does at times. lsu was on the good side of two calls this time. the truth is when the game is close between two evenly matched teams, a call by a ref (good or bad) will determine the game.

Both were stupid plays by SC players. Both plays were away from the ball but they were good calls
