Multiple sources are reporting that LSU defensive coordinator Kevin Steele will be leaving to take the same position at Auburn.

The news was officially confirmed on Wednesday afternoon via Auburn Twitter:

This is the second straight year that an LSU defensive coordinator has left to join an SEC West rival, as John Chavis left for Texas A&M after the Music City Bowl last season.

Good looking out Auburn. Since ya'll took that Bum off our hands maybe we'll only beat ya'll by 21 next year. We'll take it into consideration. Thank you again!!

If he needed the Bama system retirement he should have never left there. LSU just gave him his first ever semi-successful stint as a DC. It was a bad hire that just proved to be a bad hire after this one and done. Good riddance. This plus Chief getting rolled by Louisville made for a very pleasant day on Dec. 30!

Geaux Tigers!

Actually, Storm Warning, he has family that works at Auburn. Give me 1.5 mil over four years and I won't need Alabama's state retirement...

Come on, folks. The man is in his late 50s and needs 10 years in Alabama to be vested in its health care and retirement. Auburn provides that. If you are under age 40 you still think you are bulletproof and will be forever young. Older men must think differently. It's the smart play.

I said during the season I know he has not coached a full year here but wish we could let him go. Auburn thank you! Don't think he would have been let go otherwise. Best of luck to him!

Can't blame him. He certainly wasn't here long enough to overcome initial fan resistance plus he simply had to think that if Miles is on the hot seat he needed to jump ship to a quality offer if one came up. Does this mean Peveto gets a second crack at it?
