Multiple sources are reporting that LSU defensive coordinator Kevin Steele will be leaving to take the same position at Auburn.

The news was officially confirmed on Wednesday afternoon via Auburn Twitter:

This is the second straight year that an LSU defensive coordinator has left to join an SEC West rival, as John Chavis left for Texas A&M after the Music City Bowl last season.

If he needed the Bama system retirement he should have never left there. LSU just gave him his first ever semi-successful stint as a DC. Can't blame him. He certainly wasn't here long enough to overcome initial fan resistance plus he simply had to think that if Miles is on the hot seat he needed to jump ship to a quality offer if one came up. Does this mean Peveto gets a second crack at it?
