Alabama offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb discussed the importance of establishing the running game against LSU's defensive front ahead of Saturday's matchup in Tiger Stadium.

Grubb emphasized that the Crimson Tide must remain disciplined, take what LSU's defense gives them, and avoid trying to force big plays.

“I think just like any week, you got to run disciplined and run physical,” Grubb said. “And what I mean by that is, don’t pass on the four-yard run against a defense like this. If there’s a crack there, we got to take it. We can’t be greedy and think about, ‘What if I bounce this one?’”

Grubb expressed confidence in Alabama's ability to move the ball on the ground against the Tigers.

“Just got to follow the rules, be disciplined and run aggressively and with belief. And I believe our guys can run the football on these guys. I think we’ve run against some good fronts this season.

“So for us, it’s just going to be staying disciplined in the read, keeping the ball moving forward. And then, you know, be patient for the big one.”

LSU and Alabama will kick off Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.

Nothing Wrong with what he said. I didn't detect a "we are gonna run it down their throats" type vibe. he knows what he is up against.

Should he have said "The sky is falling!"?
He said what you'd expect a coach to say. However, I don't believe he FULLY believes that they can run the ball against LSU. Perhaps with a little success.

I hate bama as much as the next guy, but what is he supposed to say? “We won’t be able to gain any yards, so don’t get your hopes up,” isn’t a good message.

To be fair I think that's something I'd love to hear coming from the Bama OC.
