Four-star defensive lineman and Mississippi State commit Nathan Pickering from Seminary, MS is shutting down his recruitment.

Pickering, who took an official visit to LSU back on Jan. 19, has canceled his official visit to Alabama this weekend as his commitment to Mississippi State is solid.

Barring any last minute changes, Pickering will sign with the Bulldogs on National Signing Day which is next Wednesday, February 6.

Good luck with the mediocrity there kid.

Could not agree more. MSU only has two first round defensive linemen picks in this year’s draft. LSU has ...? So much mediocrity at State it is pathetic, right?

GTHOM, I'll tell you what LSU has. LSU has one Hell of a lot more players in the NFL than State does. One of them is starting for the Rams on the best Defensive Line in the NFL.

Does he know that Stingray left MSU? Could be a gamechanger.

He did his diligence and looked at all schools that were he had an interest...no problem with that choice, if it is the right place for him.

Didn't Miss St give his parents jobs at the university?

Why is this on a LSU site?

Because he was a recruiting target of ours in a position of need. Most of us (including you) were interested enough to open the thread, so it was obviously reasonable to report it here.

He lives in Seminary. He's closer to LSU than MSU or Ole Miss.

DC Shoop led the SEC and Nation in Scoring Defense. They set so many records on Defense that it is one of the best ever: allowing only 12 TDs, the only team in the nation not to allow a single play of 50 yds, only 26 plays of 25 yds. The SECW is the best.

Aranda held MSU to 3 points. LSU beat MSU 19-3. Fuk Shoop.

1st yr DC Shoop was a Broyles Award Finalist making $400K - rare air - Aranda was a semi-finalist this yr making 2.5mm, as much as HC Moorehead and more than 69 FBS Coaches. Professional Recognition: the Broyles Award was last won at LSU by Chavis in 2011. Mullen Grantham carryover: MSST is stacked in the trenches with 10 DL men and Pickering will be joining them & 20 of his friends there in his home state w/parent's & girlfriend's blessings. So, he was never coming here, though he praised O. He hails from Seminary MS, pop 300, with 10 African Americans, probably his family, living in poverty. He is a huge & elite talent, a salt of the earth young man. Wish him the best so he can change his life and take his family out of the prison of poverty.
