LSU is the latest school to offer four-star dual threat quarterback Kellen Mond from San Antonio, TX.

The 6-2, 192-pound prospect is currently committed to Baylor and plays at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. He is rated the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback for 2017, according to ESPN.

Another 'dual threat' qb? Really? I think we need someone who can concentrate on throwing the ball accurately. We don't have that now and all the so called 'dual threats' we've had in the past turned out to be singular threats if any threat at all. Thus will likely be another one of those.

Lol, when will you egg heads learn. It has nothing to do with anybody being a dual threat or not. I bet many of you wanted Shea Patterson who is about as dual threat as you can get.

Jameis Winston was a dual threat and so was EJ Manuel. Craig recruited one and coached both at least a year (Manuel for 3 years). Blake Sims had no problem in Bama's pro style offense. Andrew Luck and then Kevin Hogan right after him, had no problem in Stanford's pro style offense.

You have to evaluate the talent, coach it up, and match the offense to fit the player.

Plus, pro style pocket passer offenses don't beat Bama and haven't for a long time. That's the goal if you want to make the playoffs.

I am certain he is being offered because of Craig...not just because it's his recruiting area, but because Craig would utilize him proprrly and wouldn't doubt he is offense coordinator in waiting.

Keep Throwing stuff on the wall maybe it will stick...maybe.
Then the hard part...make him able to win in the SEC West on a regular basis.

It's pretty laughable that LSU thinks they can get a shotgun spread qb to switch from Baylor to LSU. Hey you will get under center and toss back to the running back. Way better than throwing 50 times a game. And when you do throw you will have one option instead of 5 at Baylor

Dual-threat qbs come to LSU and develop into no-threat qbs.

So tired of continually recruiting qbs that can't execute your pro-style offense and never molding the offense around the qb.

LOL at all you fans who really think its the coaches fault that a few QB's at LSU have been duds. It's too small a sample size to believe that a couple of our recent dual threat QB's have been busts because of the coaching.

Datbayoubengal. "It has nothing to do with anybody being a dual threat or not." "[P]ro style pocket passer offenses don't beat Bama." Which one is it?

But really. No one is complaining about having a dual threat as much as forcing a dual threat QB into a style which is completely bass-ackwards from a dual threat-conducive offense. Either run a true dual-threat fitting offense, or if we keep the offense as it's been (it IS Les, after all), quit pulling DUAL QB's for your PRO offense. That's the frustration.

So, there's actually some continuity. It's not that everyone here hates dual threat QB's; they hate forcing a dual threat QB into a NON-dual threat offense. And seeing as the offense hasn't changed, the acquiring dual-threat QB's is beyond perplexing.
