LSU added an experienced piece to its defense on Friday as Notre Dame transfer EDGE Junior Tuihalamaka committed to the Tigers.

Tuihalamaka spent the last four seasons with the Fighting Irish and was recently granted a fifth year of eligibility. Tuihalamaka did not sign an NFL contract, clearing the way for his move to LSU.

The 6-foot-2, 255-pound veteran appeared in 54 games during his Notre Dame career, recording 61 tackles, nine tackles for loss, and four sacks.

The addition gives Lane Kiffin and LSU another experienced option off the edge as the Tigers continue to build their roster ahead of the 2026 season opener against Clemson.

I wonder what this means for Pyburn returning. Moscona has all but guaranteed it.

Without looking, I’m sure this news is eliciting an extreme reaction from Fighting Irish fans!

How can any player be of value when the first game of the season is in two weeks and he is not even there yet?

He’s in football shape. An edge isn’t exactly a quarterback either. I half agree with you but also feel like it isn’t that big a deal for an edge.

College football as some of us knew it is officially dead. I’ll definitely still watch but this version of college football isn’t the same.

Its minor league football, but you're affiliated with a school and may take one class there. All good.

You are right, it is minor league football that’s now associated with a college. A lot of these players that just aren’t going to make it in the NFL are getting paid more in college than late round draft picks that are playing in the NFL. Between that and gambling aspect it just isn’t the same to me, but evidently I’m in the minority.
