LSU's 2019 recruiting class got a huge boost on Wednesday when five-star cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. announced that he has committed to the Tigers.

The Baton Rouge native chose LSU over Florida and Texas. Here was his announcement video from Twitter.

Stingley Jr, a 6-1, 195-pound prospect from Dunham School, was recently named the No. 1 prospect in the country for the class of 2019.

After signing just one defensive back in the 2018 class (4-star safety Kelvin Joseph) the Tigers now have three cornerbacks committed for the class of 2019 with Stingley Jr. and four-star prospects Marcus Banks and Maurice Hampton.

LSU now has a total of 13 verbal commits for the class of 2019.

I’m not a big fan of spectacle that is recruiting these days, but that was bad ass. Well done! Can’t wait to watch this young man play for the Tigers.

If Eaux keeps getting these recruits, I say double his salary or at least give him a massive raise!!

Recruiting is not even half the battle. Getting them to play at a championship level is the key to his staying @ LSU.

Very nice commitment. A lot went into that an it was very mature and respectful. It put all the focus on the school he wanted and not the one he didn't want
