I pay zero attention to these “commitments” until their signed papers are faxed in.

Correct, all of them are dying for any attention they can get and have severe "look at me" syndrome. Next man up...

I will not respect your decision until you respect your commitment...

Wish it was that easy... To: Federal Government I won’t be paying taxes this year. Respect my decision

Is "respect my decision" the new "dream school?" Seems to me if they'd honor their commitments they wouldn't have to ask people to respect their decisions.

If I tried this shite with my fiancé, I’d wake up with my balls in my mouth.

This wasn't totally on the kid. The coaching staff was very weary of his performance at the lineman camp here recently. He's had two knee surgeries. Perhaps a bullet may have been dodged.

It’s always “respect my decision.” Idiots.

I gave my word and now I am deciding to not honor it.. GIVE ME RESPECT!!! Kids today are so self absorbed. They have no idea of the concept that respect is earned, not given.

Kid was processed. I hate seeing him get trashed like this b/c he was told to look elsewhere. Why do you think this happened so soon after the OL/DL camp? Kid has two bad wheels and can't perform as an SEC OT. His 247 and composite rankings also plummeted. Would you rather him take to twitter and curse out the staff for pulling his schollie?

Yes, I would... and he would not have to curse out the staff. He could do it tactfully, still get his side out there, and maybe even earn some respect. All he would have to say is, "the interest is no longer mutual, I have decided to make the best decision for my career and decommit from LSU." I could then respect his decision. But I cannot defend the kid based on his text. What would be wrong with sticking up for yourself and telling it like it is? As it is, Ford looks like a flake.

seems with the way that was worded that lsu asked him to look around

I'm not respecting a damn thing and am sick and tired of this crap with recruits. Where is their parents in all of this teaching them what commitment really means? Props to all the LSU kids currently and in the past who stuck with their commitment the first time and didn't play stupid childish games with a program and coaches. For what it's worth, these type of kids who play that game turn out busts for the most part. Character is key in making a great football player and young man.

This is yet another reason why people should not get all excited about verbal commitments. Until they sign and send the LOI, it's meaningless.

The entire systems is at best suspect.
