Elite five-star wide receiver Shelton Sampson Jr. from Baton Rouge announced his top six schools this week and included LSU in the group.

His top schools are LSU, Alabama, Michigan, Oregon, Texas A&M, and Florida State.

The 6-4, 185-pound prospect from Catholic HS, is rated the No. 3 wide receiver in the country and the No. 2 overall player from the state of Louisiana for the class of 2023, according to the 247 Composite Rankings.

Sampson Jr. was offered by the previous LSU coaching staff back in August of 2020.

BAMA is in his top six. The day BAMA wins a national championship without a Louisiana player, I will be happy for them. There has to come a day when any top Louisiana high school football player don’t even consider going to BAMA. We need to do whatever it takes, in NIL’s name, to make that comes to fruition.

Wish some of these elite-talented guys would show some love for their homestate and stay home to battle for a championship instead of jumping on the 'Bama wagon where championships have become expected from Saban and crew!

His dad was snubbed by LSU back in the 90s. Do not think that doesn’t stick in his gut. Hoping the NIL shows up big
