Rakim Jarrett, a five-star wide receiver from Washington, D.C., has flipped his commitment from LSU to Maryland.

Jarrett was committed to LSU since April but said this week that he was not going to sign early, due to certain rules at his St. John's College High School.

For more info on Jarrett, visit his profile page on our 2020 Recruiting Tracker.

The Kid is from DC. Maryland is a little over an hour away. If he wants to stay near home, that's okay. We have a plenty big enough class without making him homesick.

Crazy! Must have been cut a pretty substantial check! The crazy part is, he's a 5 star recruit! College is just a stepping stone to the league! Why would you go to a school with no real national media coverage, and your season averages will be around 500 yards and 4 TDs a year. Meanwhile players that aren't ranked as high as you that chose better schools will be playing on national TV and getting alot more attention. He'll be in the transfer portal next year! Guarantee it!

Stays committed for 8 months and then flips on signing day? Worthless, selfish, no integrity, classless piece of shite kid. Die in a fire cocksucker.

He'll enter the transfer portal in 2 years when he realizes his draft stock in non-existent because he plays for f*cking Maryland.

I can't imagine a great wide receiver not wanting to be in this game plan. No way this guy lives up to being a 5 star and he knows it.

This is why I don't get too excited about verbal commitments. These are teenage kids who can change their minds on a dime for any reason.

Staying close to home. Nothing wrong with that. Need to learn to be upfront with people however.

Have fun going 2-10 and heading to the "leftout bowl" for the next 3 years.

We just dodged a bullet and got lucky on this one. Lying late like this is definitely a character flaw and would come back to haunt us. We've learned the advantage of recruiting guys with integrity.

I guess he would prefer to watch the bowl games from home instead of participating.
