New amended contract documents show that LSU can now fire basketball head coach Will Wade for cause if he's found to have committed NCAA Level I or II violations, according to Ross Dellenger with Sports Illustrated.

Wade has also waived his 2018-19 performance bonuses worth $250,000 and has agreed not to sue the school if fired for NCAA violations.

The details of the meeting between LSU and basketball coach Will Wade on April 12 are becoming clear. As part of his reinstatement, the coach made concessions in his contract, according to documents obtained by Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger as part of a public records request. Under two amendments he agreed the school add to his contract, LSU can fire Wade for cause if he is found to have committed Level I or Level II NCAA violations, or if the NCAA infractions committee issues a formal notice of Level 1 or Level 2 violations to LSU involving the coach. Wade also agreed to waive the $250,000 in performance bonuses he contractually earned in 2018–19.

Wade got screwed out if his well deserved bonus. None of these amendments sound like support for Wade.

Glad to see that some here see this as a positive thing... I think Wade is on the ropes and hanging on by his fingernails to keep his job.

There is still a little smoke in the air. WW says he did Nothing wrong. If true, let’s move on... but the school (and Woodward) Does need to protect itself in case the smoke turns to fire!

I think these amendments were WW’s “slap on the hand!”

Wow, he must've really been between a rock and hard place leverage-wise to fork over all that bonus money.

If I was WW I would not have agreed. He should keep his bonus. He earned it. Woody give the man his bonus.

"Wade also agreed to waive the $250,000 in performance bonuses he contractually earned in 2018–19." What was the point of this?

It's BS. A cheap move by FKing. I'm sure FKing loved the additional revenue that WW brought into the athletic budget by having an exciting team that wins (and the rationale for his bonus in the first place).

If Will Wade agreed to this without LSU agreeing to waive any buyout on his contract if he leaves for another job, I absolutely think he believes this is a destination job rather than a stepping stone one.

I ha e no idea what this means I was under impression from reading this that seems like he got screwed out of bonus and lsu is getting ready to fire him of they get opportunity. So I am completely wrong and wade thinks is safe and wants to stay extended?
