LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson is reportedly hiring Minnesota Twins pitching coach Wes Johnson for the same role on his staff in Baton Rouge, according to Kendall Rogers with D1 Baseball.

Johnson worked as a pitching coach at Mississippi State and Arkansas before joining Minnesota in November 2018.

I don’t understand why you would leave an MLB team in the middle of a season. Couldn’t he have finished out the season then joined LSU in October? I don’t understand the thinking here.
