College Baseball Insider Kendall Rogers has reported that LSU outfielder Paxton Kling has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.

The sophomore from Roaring Spring, Pa., came to Baton Rouge as a highly recruited prospect but hasn't performed well so far.

Josh Pearson, Jake Brown, and Ashton Larson are likely the clear favorites to start in the outfield next season.

His batting average was less than acceptable. If he doesn't get on base, then, he can't use his speed. Strike out way too many times

Kid had a great glove and speed but the bat just didn’t produce enough to keep him in the lineup. Had high hopes for him and Cam Johnson both.

Should go to a lower conference and transfer back up when his batting improves.

Just not LSU! Wish him the best, maybe this will ignite a spark to put more time into development.

Appreciate the contributions and hope the best for him. Maybe he will thrive in another program.

This one hurt Jay. I’ve rarely seen him light up as much when talking about potential as he did when talking about Paxton. He even called him a super star in the making early on.
