LSU added another major piece through the transfer portal on Friday with Oregon outfielder Angel Laya announcing his commitment to the Tigers. The freshman slugger was one of the top available players after a standout season with the Ducks.

Laya hit .296 with 14 home runs and 47 RBI while earning Freshman All-America honors in 2026. The left-handed bat gives Jay Johnson another proven power hitter as LSU continues to reload its lineup.

With multiple years of eligibility remaining, Laya is expected to compete for an immediate role in the Tigers' outfield and adds another impact bat to LSU's 2027 roster.
