Coaching little league many years ago, my second batter in the first game got hit by a fastball and it broke his cheekbone. Yeah, even though he wasn't the best player I knew the season was over. Most of my players wouldn't get near the plate after that. Of course, college baseball players have seen it all, but my LL players hadn't.

That’s not a very comforting quote

My biggest takeaway from this video was learning about Eric Walker being sick. Everyone wants to get the attention grabbing clickbait quote but won't pay attention to actual information.

This is the reason most coaches give stupid meaningless interviews. Because no matter what they say, the fans will find a way to trash in the coach.

Seems to be slight over reaction since the guy was out last year and still had a quality year

I haven’t started really following the team this year, but does our entire season come down to the health of one player??

Way to tell the rest of the team they're not good enough, coach.

Also the first thing he thinks when injuries happen are wins and losses, not the health and safety of his players.

Agree. That sure instills confidence in the guy that backs Smith up. Good job coach. His teams pretty much run off of talent.

Nice unsubstantiated, argumentative generalization.
