High School Football Team Pulls Off Greatest Fake Punt Ever

I had to watch on repeat too. Trying to figure out why anyone would watch that more than once.

The returner thinks it is a kick along with the blockers so they don't try to defend the pass. That's interesting. You look stupid if it doesn't work as it is a turnover on downs. But most fake punts make you look stupid if they don't workout.

That coach should put all his money on black with his dumb luck.

There's a rule in the NCAA that mentions this specific type of play. No interference can be called if you simulate a kick with a high throw. Best defense against this would be to hit anyone going for the ball. Of course they would have to recognize what was going on though.

Weiner used to run this at CHS in the late 80s, early 90s. Would inform the refs before and even if it was not caught, there was a high percentage defensive Pass Interference would be called.

That was a stupid play call, and dumb luck.
