Last weekend's "The Match" was a HUGE ratings success, so they're looking to make it an annual competition. Phil Mickelson has some fun suggestions as to who should be the next athletes to play with them...
quote:

“What if Tiger and I were to team up and take on two younger players, or what if we were to team up with younger players and have it be a real high-level golf competition?” Mickelson said. “I think there’s a market for that. But you have to have some personality in there, too, so a guy like Justin Thomas showed how funny he is and he would add a lot to an event like that.

“I think you could showcase guys like Steph Curry and Michael Jordan or Tony Romo and Patrick Mahomes, who are all good golfers, elite talents and have great personalities. Those personalities are going to come out with this event. Or you could have someone who loves the game and is competitive but is really entertaining like Larry David and Bill Murray. I think that could shine.”

Bill Murray would be hysterical just playing a round by himself.

How about they do a drawing and get two guys with a 15-18 hndcp and see how that goes!

They should have Connor Moore do commentary......using his Poulter, Sergio, and DJ imitations.

It doesn't have to be Tiger/Phil in my opinion. You could put JT/Rory or any 2 popular pros with celebrities and I would watch it.

Suggested "parings"? What's Phil recommending - apples or potatoes.

Trim those up with a pairing knife.

What made this event so much better was that is was a charity event. The Match I was hyped up to be this competitive high stakes match that doesn't lend itself to goofing off.

I don't even know who "won" last Sunday's match. I guess their respective bank accounts won PS - Are Lefty and Tiger friends now, or is just strictly business?
