The NCAA has denied USC's appeal to reduce sanctions imposed on its football program, so now the BCS is deciding whether to take away the Trojans 2004 title. BCS executive director Bill Hancock says there is no timetable for that decision, but he expected it to happen "sooner, rather than later." Like the Heisman Trophy that was stripped of USC's Reggie Bush, the championship would be left vacant.

I've supported the BCS way more than the average person here, but if the sheer fact that it's a possibility for USC to keep that title is imho the thing that will illegitimize (is that a word?) the BCS more than anything they've ever done.

USC was declared ineligible to win a football game from the last week of November 2004 through the 2005 season, meaning that their victories over UCLA and Oklahoma are not recognized by the NCAA. How can you win a BCS championship without winning the BCS championship game, which USC did not do?

bush was not stripped of the Heisman

SC will remain and from 2003 and the lone NC (save golf Digest) from 2004.

Either way, does not make a differemce

Only reason he gave it back was because, otherwise it would have been stripped from him.

This isn't the same year as LSU people. USC won the 2004 BCS outright.

The BCS should be giving USC trophies for fricking them over in 2003, 2006, 2007 and 2008 instead of taking them away.

A six-point loss inside Reser Stadium was considered more detrimental than OU losing to Texas by 10 points at a neutral site. Apples and Oranges. The public missed out on not seeing that D against the anointed one.
