Khabib Reveals Reason For Turning Down $100 Million Floyd Mayweather Fight

During a recent episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, Khabib Nurmagomedov revealed that he was offered $100 million to fight Floyd Mayweather and that he rejected the bout because he doesn’t make decisions based on money...

“I don’t wanna make boxing community upset with me. Of course money makes sense too. But I never fight for money,” Nurmagomedov said, via Daily Mail. “Money is good, but most of the time it is bad.”

Nurmagomedov believes an absurd amount of money, like $100 million, could change a person’s behavior. At the end of the day, he strictly cares about his legacy in the octagon.

“Money brings you to the situation that you have never been, and you don’t know how to act when you have so much money,” Nurmagomedov continued. “It is a little bit dangerous. In this business, I don’t come to make money. I come here for legacy.”

I respect this decision. Money aside, what Mayweather and his people are doing to boxing is disgraceful. Let’s see Floyd fight Khabib in the octagon for 100MM. He’d never do it.

Nailed it. Mayweather is a boxer period. The MMA fighters for the most part are really good boxers, but also train on other elements necessary for survival in their line of work. Mayweather would not last 3 minutes against the MMA fighter, mainly because he is not a Duran who could knock you out with one Punch. Mayweather is a boxer who wins by points.

The guy comes from one of the most backwards, goat-humping regions in the world. He was set for life after the first 100k. Now the guy is a multi millionaire and one of the most popular figures in Russia. If I’m undefeated, set for life financially and a national hero, no way I’m taking an arse whooping in front of the entire world in a fight I have no chance of winning.
