Paul Finebaum Says There Is 'Bias Against Alabama' For The Playoff This Year
© Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
ESPN’s Paul Finebaum thinks Alabama is not only in great shape to make the CFB Playoff, but also says there's a bias against the Crimson Tide this year...
quote:

“In my mind, they are in great shape. Now again, you have to be careful here because there is a tremendous amount of bias against Alabama by people in the media. Yeah, I said it. You read various columns and some people have Alabama No. 7 or No. 8, No. 6 – right now, I don’t know how you can objectively say that. To me, Alabama looks like one of the four or five best teams in the country. You start doing comparison tests. Somebody this morning put Oklahoma ahead of them – I mean are you out of your mind? Oklahoma is not better than Alabama.”

Alabama is the only school with a personal propagandist in the national media

I know. It's not like LSU didn't just have Ryan Clark and Booger McFarland all over NFL and College Football shows propping up LSU. Crazy how it's only Alabama. Amirite?

@DoubleDown LSU has three wins over top 10 teams. Don’t think the Tigers need a prop at the moment.

It won't matter when they lose to Auburn Saturday.

BUT what if Bama wins by 14-plus points?

Bama will lose to Auburn. Then there will be no discussion.

Bias? Yeah. Everybody is sick of Bama weaseling themselves into the playoffs.

Coming from an Ohio State fan?! The goal is to put the top 4 teams in. Are they one of the top 4? It appears so, even if there is a dropoff from 1-3 and #4.

Go back under your rock pissant hater! Bama has earned everything it has won! You can't handle the fact your Yankee schools have been surpassed by the southern football powerhouses! The number of times the south has been cheated by northern bigotry and bias is ridiculous!

Bama is the only team to have done it...and they've already done it twice.

When people are used to receiving special treatment and they stop receiving special treatment it can appear to them that they are being mistreated.

Just curious. If Oregon beats Utah and it's down to Alabama -OR- Oklahoma (assuming LSU beats UGA, etc), you think Oklahoma is more deserving than Bama?
user avatar
theOG54 months
@DoubleDown Yes. In your scenario Oklahoma will have played and beat more ranked teams than Bama and will have won their conference.
user avatar
DoubleDown54 months
@theOG and that's a good argument. However, does a 5 point loss to #2 (or #1 depending on how you look at it) look better or worse than a 7 point loss to Kansas State. The goal is to put the best teams in. Using everyone's argument on here, why is Clemson even ranked? They've played high schools all year and still almost lost to one.

I knew as soon as Oregon lost he would be on a platform saying this! Watch this week, Saban is going to do the same in his press conference stating the 4 best teams should be playing!

Didn't Pawl say prior to the LSU game if Bama doesn't win they should be out?

Yes. He's right. We're all tired of A1abama. No shame in sitting the playoffs out for the good of the game.

they got blown out at home....they have played a weak schedule...and their superstar is gone for the season. make room for Utah
user avatar

5 point loss to #2 (now #1) is a blowout? What do you call Utah losing to unranked (8-4) USC by 7? Or Oklahoma losing to unranked (7-4) Kansas State by 7?

"Alabama MUST win this game. Nick Saban is the only coach in the last 80 years to win a national championship without winning his division. That dog's not gonna hunt this time around." --Pawl

He went on record saying that if Bama lost to LSU, then they would be out of the playoffs. Not even 24 hours after the game ended, he was already rewriting the narrative.

What a lying phony. The only reason this fraud said Alabama would be out of the CFP with a loss to LSU? Because he NEVER EXPECTED BAMA TO LOSE TO LSU. As soon as they did, he immediately changed his tune.

Someone has to balance his bama pumping/humping. In this case it takes multiple media to balance it out.

If LSU makes the cfp Alabama does not deserve to have a spot in it also. They had their chance at home against LSU and blew it. At no point in that game did Bama ever have the lead.
