Sopsher is next to quit. Good talent evaluations but bad character evaluations.

The Colonia, New Jersey, native has reportedly been going through a difficult time since his grandmother fell gravely ill and is on life support, his parents explained from a joint Twitter account last week. "(Antonio) is very close with her," the tweets read, "since this illness took effect, Antonio has taken it very hard. He has not attended classes and practices." Saban announced after the New Mexico State game that Alfano was going through internal discipline, adding there was an "academic" element to his punishment, and that he needed to be "responsible and accountable to do what he's supposed to do like every other player on the team." Right. Saban needs to write down all the deep feelings he had when he quit the Dolphins so he can relate. (oh yeah, and when he quit LSU, and Michigan State before that - and Toledo before that.)

If memory serves me correctly, Saban informed the Dolphins that he was leaving. Kinda different.

Sounds like he had some personal stuff come up and it is a shame that his coach hasn’t spoken with him to find out what. He could be an outlier but more people don’t just shut down like that. He is a long way from home and this happened sounds to me like he has some serious personal stuff going on.

I’m the last guy that would try to knight for Nicky, but you don’t really believe he and his staff haven’t tried to contact him do you? He’d just let a 5 star bounce and, “Oh well, he quit. Nothing we can do”? The kid clearly ghosted his team. There’s only so much you can do for him if he’s unresponsive.
