There's no excuse for a grown man who does those three lifts to not be able to get over 1000lbs. I was at 935 in highschool with power clean instead of deadlift and I wasn't a big guy. 1000 would have been cake with deadlift instead of powerclean.

How did bench press ever become a "big 3" lift?

deadlift is pure raw power and is usually the hardest for people to do of the three lifts

stop talking nonsense

i really don't have a good guage on what my single rep maxes would be in DL and Squat. I know i can do more than 315 in both as i've done that much during the course of a workout. Whether i can hit 350 in squat or not etc, just not sure exactly.

if i can deadlift anywhere close to 400ish, i can certainly hit 1000.

Just read through this thread.

85% bullshite.

I would like to see the body weights associated with anything near 1000 lbs for all three "big lifts"

275 squat
315 bech
385 deadlift

6'5 236 38

you are pretty damn close, but honestly for your size you are week.

I am 5'10/191/33yrs and lifts are the following as of 6 weeks ago

Squat-350
Dead-405
Bench 260
Press-175

I am week and still hit it. But I agree, people who don't workout or haven't in a long time saying they still can lift is are full of shite. especially on squat, if you aren't used to the weight, you will fail quickly.

Im not trying to put you down, but I've seen people who have never lifted before walk in the gym squatting 300+ and pulling 400

You're too big a baw to have those squat and DL numbers. Shelf the bench and get on a squat/DL plan

I agree, I am week for my size, granted If this was 8 or 10 years ago, if I tried, I would be well pass that. I haven't maxed out in a while, so who knows. My squats are my weakness, I had to learn how to squat again. So my number for squats is impressive knowing where I was a year and some change ago.

Some may disagree, but at my height squats ( done with proper form) are difficult.

I agree with everything you said but that. Maybe some youngster, but i highly doubt someone over the age of 30 can walk in the gym and put up those numbers with proper form.
