5th Congressional District Race

With Miguez looking like he is going to run in the 6th district race, that opens up the field of the 5th to an actual race. Who is everyone liking in this race?

Misti Cordell from Monroe
Rep. Michael Echols from Monroe
Expected Candidates:
Sen. Stewart Cathey from Monroe
Rep. Gabe Firment from Pollock

Right now I'm going with Misti Cordell. I don't know much of anything about Gabe Firment, but I'm definitely a hard no on Echols & Cathey.

All I know is she gets good reviews from someone I know well for her work with the Board of Regents. She is apparently smart, competent, and understands how to make things happen.

Same for me. I've met her a few times but don't know her personally. However, the folks I know that do know her say exactly what you said.

Misti Cordell...that's a hard NO. She is a bootlicker and won't be a strong voice for your district.
She, as a member of the RSCC, asked constituents not to send emails. Wise elected officials don't do that!
