re: UPDATE : Big beautiful bill’ to include millions acres of public lands FOR SALE
Posted by lsutiger266 on 6/16/25 at 7:23 am to SulphursFinest
The US government owns 47% of the land in the 11 western states.. a quick google search shows the us government owns more than 1,000,000 sq miles. Thats 640,000,000 acres. Selling 3 million acres makes sense as long as countries like China don’t grab it up. Thats less than 0.5% of the land. Look at a map of the west and how much of it the government owns. This is common sense not something sinister.
re: Who is the best eye specialist in Baton Rouge?

I’d recommend Dr. Jong at Advanced Eye Center. She’s an Optometrist and focuses on how the eye works. I had terrible eye fatigue and glasses wouldn’t work and my ophthalmologist said he couldn’t do anything and referred me to her. Did eye therapy and it fixed my issues. Back to 20/20 vision and it’s stayed that way for 10 years now.

I think Mingo is the best player I’ve ever played against and I played a lot of ball in highschool. I think he could have gone on to make the NBA if he pursued basketball instead of football. Freak athlete and had a great jump shot to go with his athleticism.

Take a look at BAYC (Bored Ape Yatch Club) this morning. Started at a 1 million market cap and is up to 5.4 million in just a few hours.

I am really wondering if it’s best to just hold in aggressive positions until this stops ripping up. I went all in on bitx/mstr on the Monday before the election based on probabilities on poly market. Have held since. Debating switching back to regular btc etfs tomorrow at the open or holding until we hit 100k

Really appreciate you bringing this up in this thread. Started doing this trade 2 months ago but I have been looking for big drops to purchase BITX (atleast 7-8%). Been trading between ARKB and BITX and back to ARKB and tracking shares gained per cycle. (I chose ARKB for fees and price closes reflects bitcoin’s price so makes numbers easier for me to track).
I ve been selling once price is nearing a previous high and getting back into ARKB. I’ve paid close attention to bitcoin price action for 4-5 years and finally feel comfortable trading this way. So far through 2 cycles of this trade I’ve made 18% increase in shares of ARKB and in 3rd cycle of the trade now. Looking for an exit back to ARKB once bitcoin hits 65k. My typical hold time has been 2-3 weeks and don’t want to hold BITX much longer due to decay and market volatility. For anyone else who has been paying attention to this I won’t be doing this trade as aggressively once we get closer to 90k bitcoin but for now and where we are with the bitcoin cycle it’s been an easy way to increase share count.

Did the same thing you are asking about. Amex blue cash preferred and chase freedom unlimited are both 0% APR and one is for 12 months and the other is 15 months. I would only go this route if you have the cash to pay it off before the regular APR kicks in.

I’m certainly not defending the guy but was surprised.. I said he deserves everything he has coming his way.

Knew him years ago from the gym. Certainly wouldn’t have expected him to be into this but he deserves everything he is going to get coming his way. One thing in common with people who get arrested for this type of thing is you would never expect it. Reminds me of the head building official for BR that got arrested for the same thing a month or so ago.
re: SCOTUS poised to overturn ruling that declares homeless encampments a legal right
Posted by lsutiger266 on 4/22/24 at 8:01 pm to BRbornandraised
Have you ever walked through a homeless camp? I’ve walked through a few and the amount of needles, soiled diapers, and filth I saw was mind blowing. And the diapers weren’t infant diapers…
I have some family members through my wife’s family that have serious mental health issues and I get that side of homelessness but at a certain point homelessness is a culmination of poor decisions. The people who are homeless that actually want to take advantage of programs that are available to them will find a way out. Those programs are great and should be encouraged.
In regards to land for them to camp on, where does this land come from? I don’t think jail is the best option but the majority of homeless I’ve encountered use any money they get on either drugs or blow their money on lottery tickets.
Just tonight I was at a gas station and the homeless man that I see there regularly spent over $40 on lottery tickets. If a homeless person asks me for food I would have a hard time turning them down.. if a homeless person asks me for money there is no way I’m giving them a penny.

re: Is there a more useless group of employees than those working at Lowe’s?
Posted by lsutiger266 on 3/22/23 at 9:09 am to TigerOnTheMountain
Walmart employees. Several years ago I had multiple Walmart employees trying to make fun of me when I asked if they had dry ice.. it was something along the lines of “this dude be crazy.. ice can’t be dry..”. This went on with multiple employees over 10 minutes.

re: What's the current fencing $/ft in BR?
Posted by lsutiger266 on 3/5/22 at 9:04 pm to PeteRose
I built 340’ of fence in 2018 for $6.70 a ft for under $2,300 at my house, including hardware for two gates. 10 more ft and I would have been an OT fence builder.
$65/LF is outrageous even with the inflation that has place since. Get more quotes.

I was in the same place you were a few months ago between a loaded xlt and a base lariat. I ended up finding and going with a 2019 used lariat that was fairly loaded for cheaper than the loaded new xlt. If you are willing to buy a used truck that’s one or two years old you can get way more. Hard part is finding a lightly used truck near you.
