Jay called the Voorhies commitment a few weeks ago. He is on a roll.

we will continually track this thread to see how many he gets right.

This is only 22 committs does he think we don't fill up

IMO, it would be a waste of his great speed to not put the ball in his hands multiple times per game. Not many guys can keep up with him so get the ball to him and let him showcase that. I'm sure he'll be great wherever, I'd just like to see that speed utilized.

He will be returning punts and kicks and with the talent LSU has stacked on defense you can expect to see him touch the ball a ton without ever seeing the field on offense

Anyone know what lopez's contract looks like so we know if this makes financial sense

Patterson is like 210 i hear. Herron would probably be someone who moved if any of them.

Patterson is 240 he would have to put on about 45 pounds to play inside but he is really athletic but we definatley need inside players I only think he would move if Williams commits to us
Neither we only take Gilmore at this point it looks to me like it's gonna be Gilmore Williams Willis and either Robinson or goodman possibly look to move one of the ends to the inside maybe Patterson if they think his frame can hold the weight. Chavos loves his athletic d tackles and I think we may be able to move one of the ends

Tre'davious white db or wr

Want to know the consensus I think Jefferson is definatley a cb cutrer is a safety if we add Willis Robinson and goodman ( Hoping ) then I get really excited with what this kid could do with the ball. Could bs a Percy harvin type.

Williams
Pagano
Gilmore
Willis
Goodman

Most will say that package deals don't work out

Most package deals don't feature 2 top 5 players at there position. I think when looking at these " package deals". All you need to do is say would I recruit these players individually. The answer is yes on both these guys so if I am an LSU recruiter I work the fact that they want to play together hard. That is heavily in your favor

Willis
Goodman
gilmore
Williams
Vanderos
Seals-jones or North ( We want 1 more receiver )
Robinson

we are taking 26 no?

ad ricky jefferson to that list to round out the class

That is 7 players above we have 18 18 + 7 = 25 so no we arent taking 26

I am thinking we finish with

Willis
Goodman
gilmore
Williams
Vanderos
Seals-jones or North ( We want 1 more receiver )
Robinson

* I would like to also not that I personally still think we can lock up RN. I dont think that that committment he made to clemson sticks and it has since become public that we were number 2. If we can get him to campus Nov. 3 then I think he is ours in which cas we dont take Vanderos
Because the most impressive offer on the board for thus kid is mcneese st. And we have way way ( no way I can emphasis how much better ) prospects on the board right now. Don't be dumb If this kid was a top notch talent he would have a better offer sheet and it takes more then a 4.4 ( which I doubt he runs ) to get an offer from a major school. By the way if lsu was that desperate first i think we would all be depressed and LSU could offer this kid at 11:59 on National signing day and steal him from southeastern Please don't post ever again unless you have something decent cause this thread just wasted everyone's time.
quote:

It really is that close, we’re on campus and I see LSU students every day when I walk around,” Williams said. “I see the football players a lot and we’re all in the mix together. I’ve been here for such a long time that I do want to see something else. I’ve never really been outside of Louisiana so that’s why I’m so wide open in my recruitment. I’m going to go somewhere that suits me, not necessarily somewhere that’s right here.”

Here is a quote from an article on him I read. This is directly from his mouth. I still think he winds up at LSU but those last two sentences kinda worry me
From articles I have read on him it acctually looks like Tim Williams wants to leave Louisiana. That being said I don't think he can just yet with his kid here. I don't think playing on LSU's campus has as big an effect as you would think other then everyone at the school pushing him to us. It's not like we can wow him with things he hasn't seen cause bs has seen it all. Kid will be here but I base that solely on the fact that his child is here.
I am not going to bang on Texas they are a good program great post up there by the longhorn fan he is right LSU basketball isn't a huge deal and you guys got shiro congrats, the only thing I do have to say when we compare Texas and LSU is that LSU can still win games with a shittey quarterback how is that working out for you guys cow f*cker!! :nana: :nana: :booboo: :booboo: :doublebird: :doublebird:

If you're gonna bring JaMarcus and Flynn in view, remember that we didn't start using JaMarcus to his full potential until we already had two losses in '06. And in hindsight, one could reason that MF was a better QB than JR. BTW, I don't agree with this but at this juncture it looks that way to someone not fully informed (based on the fact that one is out of the NFL and the other just signed a huge contract).

I will start my response here. First I believe that Jamarcus was a better qb in college then Flynn because in college you can get by on raw talent unlike the NFL. Once Jamarcus wasn't the biggest strongest kid on the block his lack of work ethic really shown through and Flynn has developed nicely in the NFL however remember Jamarcus went to the highly disfunctional raiders and I have heard people say he wouldn't have been picked in the first round otherwise. Flynn went to the packers and played behind Rodgers with excellent coaching and a better system so it isn't that odd that Flynn turned out the way he did also I would like to point out that Flynn got his contract based on one game and that doesn't make him good yet we still have to see on that one. His contract wasn't that big either very modest contract actually and if that one was the bst on the table there wasn't a huge demand for his services not to mention there is talk of the Seahawks taking tannahill if he falls to them so let's not sing the Matt Flynn praises just yet

Next I don't think les is carrying any qb baggage judging from who has been interested the last 2 years. We are over blowing what happened to Jared lee it's like no one realized he was just as bad as JJ maybe worse. I will stand by all the qb decisions les has made since he has been here cause I can see why he made all of them and he brought in Krags. Maybe the best qb move we have made in his tenure cause this guy knows qb's.

Well it seems the way because this is the first time I have seen this brought up. So we don't get Barrett. There are plenty other options out there and I like a lot of them more then barrett
It's cleary not the universal perception cause tons of big name guys are very interested in coming here. Thomas Bateman Mitch Johnson among others. There is no reason LSU just can't recruit qb I think you are just reacting to one kid picking OSU over us and by the way doesn't mean he wasn't thinking hard about coming here or still wont but urban is a hell of a recruiter so it's not like he chose Houston above us. No more knee jerk reactions.

A perception of how LSU runs an offense and handles its QBs has been established under Miles and how he used Lee/JJ. Honestly, why would you want to play QB at LSU after watching the last few years? I'm a diehard LSU fan but I would not consider it if I was a top high school QB.

Ok I am tired of all the complaining about these 2. Does anyone remember that Matt Flynn and Jamarcus Russell both played under miles and did very well in the system. Has anyone considered that JJ and Lee were both huge busts at qb. Both were highly rated and both had a ton of offers it was just our bad luck to sign 2 qb's who couldn't handle the pressure in the SEC. Does anyone recall the Ryan perillioux debacle. We were forced to play 2 kids who weren't ready for 2 straight years and the pressure cracked them. Miles has been forced to run the ball because of the deficiency at qb. I think it's awesome that les figured out how to mask our giant hole at that position for 4 years and still win games so give coach miles a break Til you see what he has been wanting to do the last 4 years but has been unable. Also as far as us not being able to land top guys does anyone remember keil being committed to us until mom convinced him to stay home. He was one of the top 2 qb's in the country. Jamarcus, perillioux, Flynn, even JJ and lee were highly sought after not to mention Randall and rivers who are both gonna bs good and mett and there are a lot of qb still interested in us so please stop with the no qb wants to come here argument we have heard enough
