That would require you to score at least 1 point and gain at LEAST 100 yds.

You up to it?

Those 5 first downs you managed against Bama were impressive, though.

Not quite as much as it must suck to look like you.

Cripes, dood, if that's you in the pic...sub in a hot chick. At least the insults could then be taken more seriously.

Strawman!

Perhaps you'd care to share with us why the NCAA never implicated ANY of the agents lined up at practices or on the sidelines during games?

Simply because no wrongdoing took place, that's why.

Lake and Michaels weren't even agents, and had zero association with USC. They were looking to START an agency with Reggie's dad, and use Reggie as their star client.

It's the wannabee agents like Lyles that schools have to be concerned with. The legit agents know they stand to lose their certification and livelihood if caught tampering with the college players before their eligibility is expired. Not to mention breaking civil laws and having to face AG's, like North Carolina is attempting to do with the agents involved with their players.

Even if this is pans out to be bad for LSU, it still pales in comparison to the corruption that takes place at $C.

Looks like someone's getting their 'news' and 'facts' from message boards.

What corruption was USC involved with? In case you didn't follow the actual situation, the wannnabee agents were trying to get Reggie to leave USC, which makes no sense for a booster or coach to become involved with

Please tell me there aren't USC fans on an LSU board arguing a game from 1979.

Who's arguing?

A USC fan didn't start this thread. Chiming in to present a different perspective is what these boards are all about, no?

It does not fit the argument that the PAC-8 refs stole the game. Not to mention the refs were split PAC-8 / SEC.

LOL...These guys need to seriously start working on their spin. Not sure why Pac 8 refs would be working the game, when the conference expanded to the Pac 10 in 1978.

Nice try...but the Bush situation didn't even begin until the end of 2004.

BTW, speaking of cheating... Looks like someone needs to pay better attention to the news.

No telling how long that stuff's been going on in SEC country.

Here is the famous play in question. I filmed this off my tv screen but it's pretty good. The first link I zoomed in on the right guard and tackle. The second link is the live play with a great shot of Coach Mac pleading his case.

LOL@ no mention of the rushed SC field-goal at the end of the half, in which the chains weren't even moved. If the refs had of waited for the chains to be set, the kick isn't rushed, and likely good.

Also no mention of your own announcers even commenting on the missed early movement from you're right tackle on the 38 yard run by Leroy Jones, which set up your final three points.

At the end of the day, even if you disagree with the facemask (which the slow motion shows was a legit call) and the previous no call on the early movement, your defense still had an opportunity to stop the USC offense... and they couldn't.

I see nothing wrong here. We paid for a service received, nothing more.

According to the article, if Lyles did indeed accompany your coach on a visit to Randal's high school, you would have a difficult case to make that he wasn't assisting LSU in the recruitment of a player.

If true, LSU did receive more than just his scouting services.

quote:

Hartman declined comment last week about his meeting with the NCAA investigators. But in January he told FOXSports.com that LSU defensive line coach Brick Haley accompanied Lyles to Clear Springs High last spring in a visit about Randle.

LOL at the groupthink mentality "do WE still hate USC?"

Grow a pair and think for yourself...

Oh wait a minute...many of you were educated at LSWho.

1st Carroll doesn't trust his crappy D that was exposed by Fresno and Notre, yet attempts not a single run play to burn any of the last 4:06 with an 11 pt lead, passing every down except one punt.

So sorry you missed the actual game. Too bad the facts don't support your spin, though. PC went for it on 4th and 2 with Lendale because he didn't trust the D. Who would...by that game, we had 3 players on D who came into the program as walk ons.

The last time we had the ball, he rushed 4 times.

those are often on incomplete passes or also they review the clock when the refs actually calls time

The clock review and time put back on the clock in South BendOver was as bogus a call as you'll ever see.

The replay official put 1 second back on the clock, since that's when the ball hit the ground incomplete. The clock isn't dead until the official blows his whistle, which takes time for everything to be confirmed and actually blown dead.

In the replay, the official closest to the play was running over to the play, but never signaled anything with his hands before the clock hit zero.

Like Pete said...it's a good day when you beat ND 2 times in one day.

re: LSU got screwed

Posted by brdcstr on 11/25/09 at 5:06 am to
Not so surprisingly, no one is mentioning how the official did everything in his power to enable you to get that play off.

The ref literally stood over the ball and waited for JJ and your team to get set. The rule is he signals the clock to start when the chains get set. The yard marker on the sideline even dragged his feet getting the marker set, but he's not the one they wait for, as evidenced by the ref setting the ball and moving back before he was set.

If you converted on that play, Ole Miss would've had a legit gripe on their hands for that assist.

Stewart Mendal is a douch bag, last week he called the PAC-10 THE BEST CONFERENCE IN THE NATION.

Name a better conference this year?

The SEC doesn't have enough offense this year to compete from top to bottom, and your defenses haven't really been challenged by top notch offenses to know how good they really are.

If this excessive celebration is a directive from the SEC office, I wonder why they flags wasn't flying in the Bama/Kentucky game

After I heard about the SEC statement being released after the game to back the ref because Green 'called attention to himself'...I focused on the SEC highlights.

EVERY player sportscenter showed that scored a TD from the SEC made some benign gesture to the crowd...but NO penalties were called.

You guys caught a huge break on that. UGA has every right to feel like they were screwed...'cause they were.
