A sampling of how Miles' management went over on the Bayou could be found on the "Tiger Rant" fan forum at TigerDroppings.com, where one fan asked: "All wanting off the Miles bandwagon, please be heard," and another responded, "Do you have to have been on it to get off it?"

But LSU fans never fully embraced Miles following Nick Saban's departure, and now their worst fear is coming true: Saban has Alabama on the brink of a second straight undefeated regular season, while the Tigers have now gone 7-8 in the SEC since last season.

Bingo!! He didn't just touch on the game last Saturday. He added actual knowledge to the story.

I never really did think of this.

Just 2 years ago Rich Rod and Les Miles were considered 2 of college football's best.

Not really. Go back and look at the Tiger Rant that week. Especially considering LSU just lost to Arkansas. I promise you that Miles was not the top ranked coach in the country on this board.

Oh no, I was lurking at that time on here and people were ridiculously upset.

But, the national media however has a different perception... and that was a year where there was extreme parity. The top 2 teams in the BCS were constantly changing. It was the norm that year to have 2 or more losses. Les was viewed as the "Mad Hatter" and was considered an elite coach, so despite what TD thought back then, national perception much different.

Umm, it can pretty easily be argued that this year, it's better than the SEC.

Do you think the SEC is the best conference?

Really, it's just a conference with 2 good teams and a bunch of mediocre or worse ones.

Pac 10 has been more interesting than SEC this year, SEC has been down as a whole

Maybe both would have been better off had West Virginia simply beaten Pittsburgh that fateful December night.

Damn, never thought about this. Imagine how different both programs would be if this happened. West Virginia might have a NC, we wouldn't, Rich Rod may still be at WV, and Les Miles might have gone to Michigan. That game had alot bigger implications than initially presumed. Interesting.

Yyyyyeaaaah, I'll still take that national championship any day. I keep telling myself that most college football fans do not see their school win it all. I've seen mine win it twice. I'm fortunate. Eventually all this will be over.. LSU will be in another stage of athletics, and I'll still have memories of at least 2 national championship seasons that I wouldn't trade for anything.
