Awesome, thanks for the info.
Sony x900H and Sonos
Posted by Shackleford on 11/27/20 at 12:41 pm
I'm upgrading my TV/surround sound setup in the living room. I'm looking at the Sonos Arc and sub, but I have to get a TV with the eARC output. Looks to me like the Sony X900H has an update that supports this, but I couldn't find a definitive answer.
Does anyone have the X900H and can verify the TV has an eARC output?

Full point PPR, leaning towards Josh Gordn since AB is gone.

Gotcha. I'm leaning to Gordon but it's hard to sit a starting RB who will get the line share of the caries, but it is Washington also

Full point PPR. Had Gordon in no doubt but looks like Guice may get the bulk of the work for Washington. Thoughts anyone?
re: Phillips Hue Lights

I have been looking at the bulbs on ebay. It seems like the starter packs end up cheaper than buying individual bulbs, am I just missing something or is this common?

Check out this price on Walmart's website...looks there is a glitch in their online system or I'm completely missing something??

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm going to start with 4 color bulbs and slowly build out.
Phillips Hue Lights

I'm looking at getting some Hue lights for my house. Where is the best place to get the best price per bulb? I've checked on ebay and the bulbs are a little cheaper than I've found elsewhere online. Is there some sales throughout the year to lookout for or just slowly buy bulbs when replacing old ones?
re: OT engineers: how early did you start studying for the PE?
Posted by Shackleford on 6/28/17 at 10:28 am to AUCE05
I did not take the testmasters class but everyone I know that took it passed the PE.
I started studying about 2-3 months before the exam, but only on Sundays. I had a few books and concentrated on highlighting/tabbing the books so I could quickly find the information.
I also had 3 ring binders for each subsection. Each binder had as many practice problems as I could find and was organized and tabbed out. Made it super quick and simple to go find similar problems during the test.
I didn't spend much time working problems, just being sure I could get to the information that I needed as fast as possible.

Sad but great time to get some deals. Had the store in my area close and got clothes 80% off, can't beat that
re: Pics added. Looking for suggestions on a creek crossing
Posted by Shackleford on 5/31/17 at 12:44 pm to FelicianaTigerfan
Concrete mats that let the water flow over the top without eroding would be ideal. Contech makes some armorflex mats for this purpose.
You can't just set the mats on the creek bottom. You need to dig out the upstream and downstream limits and bury the ends. Contech Low Water Crossing

re: What is the town of Corinth, Mississippi like?
Posted by Shackleford on 4/28/17 at 10:27 am to Jim Rockford
If you are wanting more of a vacation, don't stay in Corinth. Like other, Florence has more options for you. There is a ton of places to visit within an hour of Florence that relate to history.
I live in Muscle Shoals, across the river from Florence, and my parents live in Iuka, east of Corinth.

I have always used 2 liter coke bottles. Easily unscrew the cap to drop the line, hook, and sinker into the bottle for easy storage. Keep a trash can in the boat full of them.
re: Airport looking to shift Plank road 1/4 mile
Posted by Shackleford on 2/3/17 at 7:56 am to Loungefly85
The problem is not having enough room at the end of the runway. BTR currently has an EMAS system that cost millions of dollars and has to be replaced every few years. Over the long haul, the cost of relocating Plank Road will be less than continually replacing the EMAS system.

I have a phantom 4. Doesn't matter about cell signal. Just need wifi to your phone or tablet you are flying with. They are pricey but I use it for work and the video/picture is awesome. They really aren't hard to fly in beginner mode.

re: How to create a legal roadway to a secluded home?
Posted by Shackleford on 9/28/15 at 1:58 pm to TDsngumbo
You don't have to buy the land. I'm assuming if they are giving you part of the property, then you will have a revised deed with the land in your name. Just get a right of way agreement with the family. You will have to pay a registered land surveyor to draw it up and sign it to have it recorded. That way if you or your family ever sells the property, the driveway right of way will still be there.

LP Landfill or Dump?

Been cleaning out the attic recently and I have a trailer full of trash I need to get rid of. Is there anywhere in Livingston Parish where I can get rid of a trailer full of trash at one time?
