RIP Michael Wright

He was mostly known for The Five Heartbeats and Oz, but I will always remember discovering him in The Principal with Jim Belushi. He played a thug like no other- but in real life he was the most erudite, educated, and complex man. We distrusted each other at first, but in time grew to become what I would call a friend. His mother owned a great restaurant on 9th Avenue in Hells Kitchen called Jezebel. We actually bonded over French cinema. His favorite film of all time was Jean de Florette and Manon du Source was a close second. RIP to a good human being.
