re: 2025-2026 Ski Thread

Which other resorts in Utah, other than Park City, offer a good village that offers other things to do for wives that do not ski? I just started looking at Sundance and Snowbasin.

The name of that burger is the Holy Toledo.
You could stop in Hope and visit the birthplace of William Jefferson Clinton.

Which lot and how much are you asking?
I searched past posts and came across yours. I’ve already looked up the Belle. I think they’ll like that. Thanks, and I enjoyed reading your post.

Booked a house just north of Purgatory, booked the Polar Express. What would be y’all’s picks for restaurants/bars to have a good meal and drinks? We will have children with us, what would be some other activities we could do with them?

Durango vs Pagosa Thanksgiving Week

Posted by swelbo1 on 8/12/21 at 8:54 pm
I have a group of 8 adults and 6 kids and we can’t decide to stay in Durango or Pagosa Thanksgiving week. Which town offers better bars/restaurants and other attractions? We are planning to take the kids on the train in Durango. Thanks in advance.

I don’t really care what kind of fishing we do. I would rather fish than sit on the beach.

Panama City Fishing Guide

Posted by swelbo1 on 3/3/21 at 7:21 pm
Who would y’all recommend for a fishing trip in Panama City? Will be there at the end of May.
We always stay at Happy Hollow Resort on Table Rock. It’s located across the lake from Big Cedar. It’s a small resort that is super clean and affordable. They also offer boat rentals. A couple of their boats are new and in good condition.

Call Bill Babler at White River Outfitters. Best on the lake, or you could try Pete Wenners. Pete has a weekly YouTube fishing report that is very informative. I’ve been going up there every year for the past 22 years. I’ve never hired a guide, but I do know those two are very respected. Also, check out ozarkanglers.com. They always give good info.

I am looking at for a ski-in/out in Park City.
Wife doesn’t ski. She would like a room that overlooks the runs coming down to the base. What area do y’all recommend, Mountain Village or The Canyons?

RV Park on Frio River, TX

Posted by swelbo1 on 1/15/20 at 12:09 pm
Have any of yall been to an RV park on the Frio River around Concan, TX? I was looking for a park that was nice that had waterfront sites available with 50 amp electrical hookups that will fit a 40ft motorhome. Thanks.

I haven't fished this area before, but I am looking forward to it. Is sounds alot better than sitting at the horse show.

I booked with Gibsons Crappie Guide Service. He said that the best fishing as of this week has been on Sardis, but was taking a trip to Enid today and tomorrow. He is going to call me today to let me know which lake we will go to next weekend. Thanks for yalls recommendations.

Sardis Lake, MS guide?

Are any of y’all familiar with any of the guides on Sardis Lake, MS, or Enid Lake?I am looking for a bass trip, but crappie would be fine. I’ll be in Batesville next weekend with nothing to do. I’d rather go fishing than sit at a horse show.

re: Going to Leavenworth, WA

Posted by swelbo1 on 11/27/18 at 2:42 pm to
I saw it listed as a good town to look at Christmas lights, and thought it would be a good trip for my wife and I. We have never been to the Pacific Northwest.

We are staying at Aspen Suites at Icicle Village Resort. This was about the only place available when I was looking for reservations.

Is this a good location to be able to walk to the attractions of downtown?

Thanks y’all. I have rented a 4wd. I figured I’d get it just in case.

Going to Leavenworth, WA

Do any of y'all have any must-sees/do's in Leavenworth? My wife and I are going December 12-16th. We'll be flying into Seattle, so we will have a rental. Any and all recommendations are welcome, as well as the best route from the airport. Thanks.

Beaver Creek, CO

Posted by swelbo1 on 9/5/18 at 8:30 pm
Can y’all give me any info on lodging/skiing Beaver Creek? Looking for ski in/out with the possibility of views of the lift. I was wondering what area offered the most activities/amenities. There’s not much info about the Arrowhead Village. Looking for something that’s 2 bedroom and not outrageously high. Thanks.

Kinda stuck between Beaver Creek and Copper.
Throw a green pumpkin Ned rig on a 1/16 oz jig head. Or pb&j.
Call Bill Babler and get a guided bass trip on Table Rock. Also check out Dogwwod Canyon. I'm headed up for our annual trip on Friday for a week of fishing. Love it up there.
