Why is this relative? I think it shows his ability to evaluate/recruit talent. I think this is a key quality a coach needs in this nil and portal era.
Willie Fritz recruited and signed Mensah…

I noticed that too. Complete amateur hour there.
That’s the part that gets me - with how much money and how many people are involved in the operation that is hosting an LSU football game, this is like the free space on bingo card. Food & beverage and other things revolving around the game are admittedly complex (not an excuse for the poorly run concessions).. but not resetting the stats from the previous weekend until a quarter of the way through the next game is pathetic.
Again, if service is going to be terrible to where you can’t keep up on phone, I’d like to look at the board and see what the individual and team stats are. Just a minor but super simple thing that LSU finds a way to frick up
Mixing in a minor complaint - Video board stats

I give you a break in the offense sucks discussion to complain about something else. Also of note: this is a pretty small thing and my broken Tiger loving brain will show up every week and stay until the clock hits 0 in a lawn chair in a parking lot if necessary
That said, stadium atmosphere was very solid. I thought it was pretty loud when it needed to be. Concession lines, service, prices, and options continue to suck but I’ve bitched about that for years and have just accepted it won’t get better.
That said, Who tf is running the video board operations? The stats being shown on the board were still showing stats from the LA Tech game for the 10+ min of the first quarter. A few drives in, the board showed us as having over 300 yards of offense, 27 first downs, etc
Pretty minor complaint here but if you’re not going to have reliable wifi in the stadium and you’re going to have a giant video board with half being taken up by ads, at least hit the damn reset button before every game and have some accurate stats up there.

re: 8 Year Old's First Saturday Night In Death Valley

I am in my 30’s with a young family of my own and my earliest/best memories in life are from going to games with my dad when I was a young kid.
My dad - who is now in his 70’s - and I reminisce to this day about games we attended together when I was a kid. We still go to the occasional game together but nothing compares to the memories we have of watching the tigers together in Death Valley when I was around your son’s age. Enjoy it!!

I think there are some people in here who do not know the difference between stadium PA guy and Play by play radio announcer.
Franques does a fine enough job for me. His voice is familiar on the PA and he’s sharp / professional.
As long as we don’t hire a guy with a high try hard voice like saints/Pelicans have done in past then I’m good. PA announcer should be someone who fits seamlessly in the background of Tiger Stadium aesthetic - not someone who is at the forefront with annoying constant yelling

3% on seller side and 2.5-3% on buyer side depending on situation. Have not seen less than that in my area.
Worth every penny if you have a good agent imo

Bregman had a super slow start to his mlb career. Not apples to apples as Crews has already had some big league AB’s but the point remains..
I think Dylan Crews will be just fine

People do not talk enough about how fanatics has ruined the athletic apperal industry. They have as close to a monopoly as you can have with every school/professional organization, and the quality of everything that they produce is absolute garbage
I know that it’s a dollars and cents thing but it still sucks

There were definitely a good amount of Astros fans way before then. Only team close enough for quick weekend trips to catch a couple games and the Killer B’s created a bunch of young fans. Plenty of little league kids mimicking the Bagwell batting stance back then.
Bregman and the team becoming good definitely helped fill the bandwagon though
Fox Sports Southwest TYFYS
This. Became a fan growing up getting to take trips from BR to Houston for a series or 2 every year. Killer B’s era. Watching games on Fox Sports Southwest helped to keep the fire burning. Guys like Bregman were just cherry on top later on, but suffered through some bad 100+ loss years between then. The Carlos Lee, Wandy Rodriguez, Kaz Matsui years were brutal (still love Wandy)
People around me rooted for either Astros, Braves, Cubs, Cardinals, Rangers or Yankees in that order (although majority were very casual “fans” so it usually depended on who was good at the time. Houston being by far the closest in proximity (to Baton Rouge) has always made most sense to me but Braves were certainly the 2nd most popular among baseball fans I grew up with.
Interior finishing nails on a small outdoor deck
Posted by 1Football on 1/26/25 at 5:27 pm
Looking for some guidance on how to solve an amateur mistake that I made while building a tongue and groove board porch (using treated wood)
When nailing the tongue and groove boards in with finishing nails, I realized I was using interior finish nails (2”). Of course I realized this after nailing them all into the joists and support beams
It’s been a few weeks and I am already seeing some rust from these nails. It’s a mostly covered porch but still gets some water when it rains. With how difficult it was to get the tongue and groove boards in and fit properly, they would be impossible to take up without really tearing them up if I have to remove the nails
Any recommendations? The boards have been primed (prior to nailing in) but have not painted yet. Is there a sealant I can use to cover / protect them and just hope they last for a while? Is there a tool that can give me any hope to try and remove these without ruining the boards? I am definitely amateur but trying to increase my carpentry skills and have certainly learned a lot of tough lessons.. but this one has been a big project and I am worried these nails will be a big issue over time. Appreciate any help/advice that y’all can provide

Sorry to see this happen for whatever reason. Brosette was the earlier version of Nussmier. He was a talented back playing behind Fournette and Guice, waited his turn and had a great senior season sharing time with Clyde. Too bad that 2018 was his senior season and he missed the championship run, but he was part of the group which laid the foundation.
quote:
Say what now? He was NO WHERE NEAR as talented and those other backs
Some people on this site are so fricking stupid. Where in his post did he say anything close to “Brossette was as talented as Guice and Fournette”? :lol
Brossette was an awesome Tiger. Could’ve gone anywhere out of HS obviously. Stayed loyal to LSU through some early ups and downs behind studs as mentioned in the post. Ran for over 1000 yards and I think 14 tds his sr year on the 18 team that helped propel us into the 19 title season. Nothing but love for that guy. Was certainly not Fournette or Guice but was a great Tiger. I am sure he will find success wherever he ends up
Not many complaints from me other than the continuously sold out/shitty concession experience (poor service and options) along with nasty bathrooms - all of which I can get over. Game aside, I love our stadium and have given up on bitching about the little stuff like that which will never be fixed
I do wish they would paint the east side seats purple so that missing people from games would not be so obvious - especially on tv. Empty yellow seats stick out. Light show was an awesome addition this year. New video board was great for pregame, etc but sucked in game when ads took up majority of it. Overall nothing major that I would like to see change

Good our special teams were garbage
If you wanna criticize this guy for TE blocking I get it but special teams coordinator was just a title  Kelly’s ST have sucked arse for 3 years.
Mason Taylor had a good year. Didn’t get enough targets imo but he would succeed without a position coach. At least pimpton flashed (finally) against OU. I’m not gonna blame Nagle for our snapper who was too busy posting tik toks in lockerroom to improve, or for 2 shitty punters that he didn’t recruit here.
Nagle bouncing for a P4 OC job is understandable and I am not happy or disappointed. Doesn’t take much to coach tight ends at LSU under BK. But certainly do not think this solves our ST issues. BK needs to commit to turning that unit around and it starts with replacing 2 shitty punters with a good once, and finding guys who can get on the same page on the FG unit. We just housed a KR & 0 was solid returning punts for most part this year. Fix the need issues and give the damn “ST Coordinator” title to whoever you want
