Let’s forget the history of Miss. St. in Tiger Stadium and convince me LSU has a chance.

Will Rogers will be a 5K/50TD passer this season.

LSUs back 7 lacks depth and experience in the middle at LB.

Mason Smith out. BJ coming back from injury (will he be 100%?)

Convince me that this won’t be a double digit Miss St. victory.

I seem to remember a pretty dominant record this century against Moo State in Tiger stadium, so I’m good with the history.

My bad. I was thinking of the QB that’s going to be just as good or better than Rogers that’s on the bench right now.

Rodgers is there qb. He isn’t sniffing 5k and 50 tds.

Rogers threw for 4700 and 36 TDs last season.

If he progresses like good QBs do, he will hit 5K and 50 TD in that offense

4500 yards and 40 tds is his ceiling. He might not get 150 against Arkansas and Bama.

It’s going to be tough, because Rogers has put up two very good games to start the season, but anyone can win in a shootout.

We win if we can match pace. If we get JD on the move and in rhythm we should score quite a bit because MSU hasn’t been great on D. Daniels has shown to protect the football and so far Rogers has two picks and a fumble through two games.

We can win, but it’ll have to be high scoring.

Their offensive line did not look good at all vs an inferior opponent on the road last night. They gave up sacks to 3 and 4 man rushes, Rogers had to move around far more than he wants to, and his accuracy suffered because of it. He threw two picks, which is definitely unlike him. We should be able to get to him and affect his accuracy. He also had several drops by his WRs in the first half.

Arizona’s QB gave State’s defense fits with his athleticism. They blitz constantly and he was able to elude rushers and keep plays alive to create opportunities. His problem is that he was completely unwilling to run the football and would throw the ball up for grabs while scrambling. I think he threw two picks after impressive escapes when he had plenty of green grass ahead of him. We all know Daniels won’t pass up those opportunities to get chunks of yards. He could have well over 100 yards on the ground if they play their typical super aggressive scheme.

State is a difficult matchup for our defense and it will be a challenge to run against their D Line, but after seeing them last night, we are also a difficult matchup for them in two areas where they look particularly weak. Being at home helps, as well.

The book on state is the same as ever- sit back in zone and make them move the ball methodically down the field

If our pass rush can get pressure with 4, we absolutely have a chance

Did you watch the Zona game last night? I wouldn’t call that very good, especially against a team that managed 1 win last season.

Define fits. He finished with 51% completion percentage and a 1/3 ratio. 23.1 QBR. As bad as Nuss looked last night, he finished with a 18.9. Not that far off between the two.

313 yards and 4 TD. And a couple crucial drops by his WRs would have added to those numbers and the final score.

Look, Miss St isn’t going to win the National Champ., this season but man this is a terrible matchup for where LSU is right now with this roster.

The point of the thread was to discuss how LSU was going to beat Miss St being that they’re a bad matchup.

And the only thing you can post is a laughing emoji and a reference to the Astros and trash cans?

What do you mean by history?

Overall series 76–36–3

At Tiger stadium if my math is right 27-15-1

If you mean recent history then since 2000 9-2

So do you mean history of simply 2 years ago?

It’s not a mystery in beating a leach coached team. Rush 3 or 4 and drop 7-8. If you get pressure you smoke them. If not, will be a battle.

Over the years, people automatically believe that LSU wins this game because “it’s Miss St.”. Because historically, LSU has the upper hand by a wide margin….

Some years are different and this year is different.
