Got to get this off my chest:

I'm in my 3rd year teaching as a high school teacher in Baton Rouge and I fricking hate it. The pays sucks, the kids I teach are ill-behaved shitheads propagated by social media and their unemployed, lazy parents that show no desire to care about their education, administration is difficult, hardly any discipline is allowed and fights between students are a daily occurrence, Covid has only made things worse, I'm in the minority of white teachers and have no common views/hobbies with the other teachers. Overheard a group of them saying how Kamala was doing a good job but were complaining about their grocery bills earlier. I screwed myself getting caught with weed in College and can't transfer to a better school district. I'm going to finish out the year, collect my bonus and call it quits.

I did scaffolding one summer and hated it but observed welding and always was interested in it. I'm considering contacting a trade school for lessons on the weekend and it that doesn't work out join a program in the fall.

Would like to know the pros and cons of being a welder in Louisiana. Will there always be work available? What kind of pay scale is there for someone starting out and down the road if you're good? Just anything worth mentioning.

Thanks.
