Grantham interviewed with Saint's today
I think LSU beats SC....SC usually has a meltdown mid season and playing in TS at night after an LSU loss is gonna be the start. Geaux Tigers

We (UGA) tend to make average teams look world class. If ya'll dont turnover the ball LSU wins! Your defence will be the difference! Good Luck!
All the politicians have nicknames too, noticed that when i moved here in 93. It's like the friggin WWF here with the nicknames :rotflmao:

re: New A&M Defensive Cordinator?

Willie Martinez (fired UGA DC).... or one of the grad assistants that coached the UGA D in the bowl game against A&M :rotflmao:
It's difficult to find an experienced DC from a good program. It's a lateral move for all of them. The only lure is money and usually the school they are at will match or better the money to stay (which is what LSU did).
The search process is to find one with experience first and if not find an up and comer or NFL DC.
The DC postion at UGA is one of the tops but it is still a lateral move for current big program DC's.
The only reason LSU got Chavis was because he was fired at the time ya'll were looking. In my opinion he runs the same type of soft zone conservative D willie martinez did. I want a more aggresive D.
Richt will get the right man for the job

yep...that was my first thought or maybe Muschamp from Texas

seems that your D was the only reason ya'll had a desent season

I'll take experience over trying to find a "diamond in the rough" young up and comer type

"Hearing that #UGA is offering #LSU DC John Chavis a raise to go coach the Bulldogs D"

quote is from Bfeldmanespn @ 1:00 pm 12 30/09

3 "guarantees" and 1 "i dont know"

1. We (UGA) will turnover the ball over atleast three times in our own territory
2. We (UGA) will give atleast two big plays to LSU on punt or kickoff return because our poorly coached special teams.
3. LSU will move the ball freely between the 30's because of our soft zone D and horrible DC.

1. Who wins the game? I don't know!! ..so we should all just drink ...ALOT!!
I watched JJ throw them in the ground all through high school. Every game he would one and two hop his throws to receivers. I think thats why your seeing limited throws from him. I was never impressed with is arm/accuracy in HS.

What really sucks is we might have to play them twice

Most Homer.."wishful"statement i've seen on this forum :rotflmao:
...but im glad to see ya'll are lookin past UGA!
PS..we don't have a chance against UF and neither does LSU, but stranger things have happened

re: We Looked Better Than Georgia

ok so who looked like a better overall team to you? us or georgia?

Well, your question will be answered on 10/3/09 !!

Joe Cox i believe is a senior kind of the similiar situation matt flynn was in (now am i in no way saying cox is equivilant to flynn) just same position...been in the system sat behind a great college qb.... but cox has some sec experience he is not the same as j.lee at all! Lee was a freshman with no experience.....UGA will be a force against us.... it will be a big test for a defense on the road in a hostile enviroment

The word on Joe Cox is:
1 5th year Sr (knows the system)
2 Very accurate (more than stafford)
3 Arm not as strong as Stafford
4 More of a leader than Stafford (according to teammates)
5 has started a few games for UGA
6 physically very strong (tebowe type)

I think with the returning O line (..and hopefully healthy). and the receiving corp, AJ Green, Marlon Brown and the resent pickup of Orson Charles, UGA will be stonger on O than people think.
The D is the question ..but all are returning and YES our DC is on the Hot seat!
UGA VS LSU should be a great game, but we start the season off with one hellva a game AT OSU!! but i think LSU will be much improved this year!
