I had a 2021 Tahoe with the 5.3. The engine failed twice in two different ways. Lifters failed at 5,000 miles covered under warranty, one cylinder failed at 100,000 miles (out of warranty), I’ll never buy another GM product.

re: East Texas Lakes

We have a lake house on Lake Cherokee. The fishing is amazing. It’s a private lake so it’s never crowded. Lots of bass, crappie, and catfish. You can also duck hunt on the lake. I enjoy the lake a lot and there will be some houses in your price range. There is a strong community feel and lots of social events.

I haven't really enjoyed Longview. The area around the lake is industrial and I haven’t found many great restaurants or bars. There is certainly more to do in Tyler, Ft. Worth, etc. to the extent that matters to you.

First year associates can barely read. Ain’t nobody showing them how to run the firm.
These are three radically different positions, so it depends on what you want to do.

If you are set on going back home, I’d go now and start getting to know the judges/other lawyers. You would be in a much better position to open your own firm after five years of working in the same area, rather than trying to move and open a firm in a place you haven’t lived in 5+ years.

You will get the most litigation experience as a DA.
Here is a link to the Louisiana statutory form, and instructions on how to register it with the SOS's office.

This is also a good place to put a PSA that no one wants you to bring your dog over to their house. No, he is not “the goodest boy.”

BIL drove in from out of state today. He showed up at our house to drop off his dog and then went to his hotel.

No request, no call, no heads up on even bringing the dog, much less it staying with us. BIL just did not want to pay to board the dog and decided he didn’t want it to stay in the hotel with him, so he made it our problem.

Wife is pissed. I’m pretty floored.
Plano. Me and my 10 year old boy. I’m 95% committed, and got a hall pass.
Surprisingly, this picture is from a different mass shooting in Shreveport last night

I’d rather be taken out in the first blast than live in a bunker with my wife for years.
I get why Kliff was a bust now.
I get it, but it’s a hire of convenience. Those rarely work out long term.
Got to go with two presents in this situation - nice/comfortable PJs and sexy lingerie. One for you, one for me.

re: Lexus GX 460 or Acura MDX?

I’ve owned both. Didn’t have any issues with either one. The Acura drives like a car, while the GX drives like a truck. However, the GX was the better made vehicle and the one I would buy again (even with current gas prices).
