"Since there's nothing internal, nothing, no male DNA, not just not a full profile or a partial profile but no male DNA present, it begs the question if anyone was there," lawyer Jarrett Ambeau said. "The absence of evidence doesn't mean evidence of absence, but in a rape allegation there has to be some evidence of penetration and that's not present in this case
Didn't they say that her private areas showed signs of damage(?). I don't know the terminology
quote:
The driver told detectives that two of his passengers had sex with the woman in the back seat, and one of the men, Kaivon Washington, told the Investigative Unit while on his way to jail that he had sex with the woman.
The accused are admitting to the crime but somehow we are going to turn this into some race fiasco

They deserve life in jail, eternity in hell.

Well WBRZ is garbage, so par for the course.
From the article, the real victims are the blacks.

It’s terrible to say, but I believe a poor ignorant girl played stupid games. Her friends said she would get so drunk and go wild and that hey were tired of dealing with her. She was drunk and she ran to the guys wanting to go with them. Video inside the car shows a different side of the story.
No, I don’t think what happened to her is right, but I also think her actions led to the situation and she’s not blameless.
I don’t want to see the scumbags get off scot free, but I also don’t think they are 100% responsible for her death.

You can’t consent at that level of intoxication… they raped her on those grounds alone and that puts 100% of the blame on the people who choose to break the law.
The level of the crime is the only debatable issue.

The question is, now, consent to what?

The physical evidence now argues the opposite. Not having DNA destroys a lot of the proof of rape.
The prosecution's case just got exponentially harder.

BS. They confessed to having sex with her in that state. The confession is admissible, therefore they raped her.

This dude is everywhere now.
I worked for him my 1L summer when he was just a piddly DUI lawyer out in Gonzales. Now he’s trying his damndest to be Louisiana’s Johnnie Cochran.

Why are you believing the defense when the prosecutor says that’s not all the evidence. We also have a lot of issues with lost physical evidence since she was fricking run over and taken to the hospital under those. circumstances.. at least 2 have admitted to sex and her intoxicated state is off the charts

Now he’s just a piddly lawyer in Baton Rouge.

The driver told the police he saw them have sex with her. That is not a confession.
One allegedly said he did it outside of an official interview, IIRC. Again, not the best.

Puffery/bragging. You just need 1 juror to think it was reasonable a young man bragged about having sex. Not a difficult task.
People confess to crimes they didn't/couldn't have committed all the time. The physical evidence is 1000x more powerful than any testimony.
Put it this way. What is more likely, one teen male bragging about sex he didn't have or somehow two males have sex with a girl in a confined space and leave 0 DNA on her. Explaining how the 2nd scenario could happen is nearly impossible.
The trial isn't about what happened. It's about evidence the state has to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
What actually happened is a discussion for message boards and God.

Bragging to police about raping a girl after she’s dead? Interesting

Then why are you treating this thread like a court of law.

Such as the cellphone videos the perps took?

As long as procedural rules and their rights were properly conveyed, they waved them and talked freely, etc, the confession is still going to sink them.
Never speak to the police. That said, I’m glad criminals are stupid.

DA: “There was DNA found on the victim that matches the suspects.”
NAACP: “Nah uhhh.”
