Bianco was offered 1.7 million and took it to Ole Miss who told him 1.2 was the best they could do but would give him an extension. He asked for a couple days to think it over before turning LSU down. This is from someone on ole Miss staff. They like the media absolutely believed he would take the offer.

I’ve been telling you guys since Monday it’s a done deal with Johnson. Everybody just mad it took a Tennessee guy to break the story.
I told you guys this morning it’s Johnson. Words out all over Omaha.
Woodward may be keeping things quiet in Baton Rouge but the coaches in Omaha not so much. LSU now has an agreement with Arizona coach Jay Johnson. Sorry it took someone from Tennessee to break the news but hey it’s a great hire that fans can be excited about.
