Paraphrasing minutes from committee meeting:
Both that were in front of the committee today were approved. One was for repealing the current tax stamp system intended for those claiming income from cannabis sales in order to avoid tax evasion along with other drug-related charges. The other was amendment 434 to HB699 which would mean a singular retail-level taxation model to be set forth if HB699 passes tomorrow.
Rep. Nelson and Kimberly Lewis Robinson, Secretary of Revenue, presented to the committee today.
Rep. White of St. Tammany and Washington Parish had a lot to say but most likely only to hear herself speak. Her contributions were of little substance when she did engage the conversation.
Rep. Les Farnum, of Calcasieu Parish, expressed snidely that he would not vote to pass HB 699 tomorrow.
Good to know whom you agree with or don't before the next election. He opposes the bill, strongly.
Rep. McMahen, of Bossier/Webster Parish, did not quite understand why it will be a vaulted, cash-only process verses direct through federal banking. He continued calling it "illegal drug money" to which Lewis Robinson replied, "It will be legal state tax revenue - not illegal drug money."

In my opinion, this story is really about philanthropy, altruism, and community betterment.
Grammy winner Jeff Tweedy to direct royalties to reparations fund in hometown Chicago.

Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy inspired Bon Iver to do something similar with directing a % of royalties towards gender inequality funds.

Facebook is getting back to its roots as a college-focused social network. The company announced today the launch of a new social networking platform, Facebook Campus, which offers college students a private place to connect with classmates, join groups, discover upcoming campus events, get updates from their school’s administration and chat with other students from their dorm, clubs or any other campus group.

The new platform requires a school email address (@.edu) to join and will live within a dedicated section of the Facebook app. It will be accessible from a tab at the bottom of the screen or from the “More” menu alongside sections like Watch, Dating, Gaming, News, Marketplace and others.
