HDMI ports/ digital board

We have a several year old LG tv that is now failing to recognize the signal from any of the HDMI ports. I have tried various inputs (reciever boxes, firestick) and still receive "no signal." Does anyone have any experience replacing digital boards or have any other potential solutions besides buying a new television? The picture is still great so a relatively inexpensive repair would be preferable. Thanks

Have you tried turning off the set and unplugging it for several hours or more? How about a factory reset (usually found somewhere in one of the menu screens)? Besides asking here, you could also google your problem with the model number and see what others say.

I replaced the HDMI board on a Sony 52". It took longer to take the tv off the wall and hang it back up than it did to replace the board. All that was needed was a screwdriver to remove the back panel on the tv and the board. Plug in replacement board and put it all back together. Bought a used board for $35 that came with a short warranty on ebay.
Does the your TV have a component input and does it still work?

quote:New TV's don't even have screws. The Geek Squad guys had to replace boards on a couple TV's, 1 a replacement for the other that still had problem after board replacement. Cases are now just snap-fit that a flat head screwdriver or putty knife in the seam will open.

Samsung controls availability of 1 of the 3 boards in their products. The other 2 boards are readily available. Wouldn't be surprised if the other brands do the same as the "mother" board is what makes them "unique".

Thanks for the feedback. I actually don't recall when we bought this tv but it's probably more than a few years old. It looks as though LG has discontinued the model. For $35 or so, it's probably worth a shot.
I haven't tried the component input as I would have to rummage for any equipment with those cables. I presume the component inputs would not recognize either if the whole board is bad?
Glad to hear that the replacement wasn't too difficult.

Lightning killed all of my HDMI inputs but the component still worked
