re: Riflescope Suggestion thread

I'm a big Meopta fan and really like their FFP offerings. The Optika5 scopes are great for hunting, and their low-light performance, like the 6's, is very good. Yes, you do need to pay attention to the manual. I do prefer bullet drops for hunting, so much quicker to get on target than dialing.
I picked up a Riton Optics 5 Primal 2-12X44 for my Thompson Center Icon and love it. The rifle is .5 MOA accurate, and the scope makes sure I'm getting all of that. The MOA reticle works great for fast and accurate bullet drops, and the adjustable throw lever is a nice feature. The glass has very good low-light properties, too. Riton has a promo right now where they are giving away a Red Dot optic with a scope purchase. Having 2X on the low end is perfect for the places I hunt.

I have a Riton Optics 3 Primal 3-18X50 scope on my 6.5 CM. Love it! I can use the MRAD reticle for bullet drops for fast shots or I can dial in my shot with the exposed turrets. The FFP makes it so I don't need to worry about what magnification setting the scope is at. A lot of scope for the money. I have been turning the knobs on mine for over 6 months and back to zero each time.
For me, cheap means good quality and a reasonable price. If you buy something poorly made with a crummy warranty, you defintely don't get off cheaply. Check out Riton Optics. I have 3 of their Red Dots that I picked up at their last sale, and I couldn't be happier. In fact, I'll be training with them this week on my pistol-caliber carbines. I know they are having a big Labor Day sale that starts Friday, so check them out. Save some money and get a good optic.
Right now their 1 Tactix ARD (my favorite) is $99! I paid more than that! I put their 1 Tactix RRD on my Crossbow for pig hunting.

Answer to Nikon question, NO. They offer you credit toward another product.

I have 3 Riton Optics, 1 Primal 4-12X50 IL scopes. 1000's of rounds, zero issues, and big fun had by all. Yes to having parallax adjustment. The quality and features of the 1 Primal far outweigh the retail price of $279. I'm going to try and add a pic of my 10/22 Green Gator Edition and the scope. No need to spend a lot to get a lot. Green Gator 10/22
Stick with your max budget and see the best deal you can get from Doug. I have also bought a lot of "stuff" from him and had no issues whatsoever. I'm sure, like anything tho, if you snooze, you lose. The deal expires, or they end up being out of stock.
I would take a look at the Meopta Optika5 3-15X44 Z-Plus reticle. This will work great for your needs, and dialing in the bullet drops using Strelok Pro will be a significant advantage. The 5 has better light transmission than the MeoSport R, which for hunting, is exactly what you need. You could step up to the 4-20X50 Optika5, which is more $, but the Meopta Store is giving 10$ for first-time buyers. Tough to beat, but if you do, let us know where!
+1 for the Meopta Optika6. They will do everything you want a scope to do. These scopes are over engineered and for the $, the glass quality is excellent. I like a BDC reticle for hunting and dialing for fun. The Optika6 FFP scopes let you do both. There are some deals to be had if you shop around. I have 4 Optika6 scopes and 4 Optika5 scopes. I do prefer the 5's on my spot and stalk rifles just because they are lighter, same quality glass. These scopes do not seem to hang around on shelves for long, so if you find one, don't hesitate.

Agree that you can't go wrong with Meopta binos. I use the Optika HD 10x42s for the same purpose, and they ride around in the middle box of my truck for quick access the rest of the year. At under $400 for European glass, they are tough to beat.

Meopta 2.5-15x44 MeoPro Optika 6 SFP Riflescope (Z-Plex Reticle) is one heck of a scope, you might also want to look at the Optika5 3-15x44. A one-inch tube and 5X zoom, it is a little sleeker scope and still loaded with great features! Meopta is the best scope maker around that you probably have never heard of. Don't be the last one to the table, they'll all be sold out.

A scope I am sure no one has mentioned is Meopta's new for 2022 and just released, MeoSport R 3-15x50mm RD scope. It has a 4c/crosshair reticle, turrets, SFP, 30mm tube, and an illuminated reticle. It might not be the best of all worlds but it will get the job done for you in many ways and at $449 in the US, with a 30mm mount, I think it would serve your needs very well. Plus, at similar price points, Meopta glass whoops VXiii glass every day. These just came out at SHOT Show last week and will be in the US in Feb.

Plus 1 on the Meopta. 1 heck of a lot of features for a great price. European quality for a fair price. Why wouldn't you buy an optic from a company known for the quality of their glass and that sells glass to other companies? I have both an Optika5 and 6 scopes, love 'em. Definitely worth the $.
I switched to crossbow 3 years ago because of a shoulder injury and love the flexibility. I popped a Meopta Optika6 1-6x24 scope on mine and I couldn't be happier. I have taken 2 gobblers and 1 doe.

You can not go wrong with Meopta. Whoever got you on that path knows quality and value. That being said, I think you can drop down to their Optika5 2-10 or 3-15 magnification models and your rifle will be set for hunting season. You can choose the ZPLUS reticle and then dial in the drops using Strelok Pro and your ballistic data. I have the 3-15x44 and 2 friends have it as well, love it. 1-inch tube, lightweight, and great European quality. Just google Optiak5 3-15x44 and you will be on your way.

Meopta has their Optika5 line of riflescopes out now. They have the same glass as the Optika6 but with 1-inch tubes. I have the 6 on my 6.5cm, 5.4-27x50 FFP. Awesome for reaching out using the BDC or dialing in my drops. I couldn't be happier with the features that this scope has.

Without a doubt, the Meopta MeoStar R1 is one of the best out there and probably the best option for your $. There are a lot of videos and forum posts saying the same thing about the R1.

Looking at Meopta is the right direction. I tried for over a year to stay off the 6.5CM bandwagon but then I shot a buddies and now I own 5. It's a sickness! I have Meopta's on all but one, the 5th has a thermal on it. The Optika6 is the way to go for a great FFP scope with excellent glass. From the 3-18x50 to the big daddy 5-30x56 with a 34mm tube, you can't go wrong. The only trouble will be finding one! The next problem will be ammo while you're having so much fun shooting! Don't waste your time looking at other options or buying something else and then being disappointed like I did. Have fun!

Being a lever gone shooter myself, there are things to take into consideration that you don't need to worry about with a bolt gun. Obj. clearance being one and even with an offset cocking handle having a room with the eyepiece can be tricky. I have a Meopta MeoPro 6X on my Browning BLR .308. Love it! So far I haven't been in a situation that requires me to need more magnification. I do plan on putting a Meopta Optika5 3-15 with a reticle that I can use bullet drops with. I think it'll give me all I need and more this hunting season. The Optika5 is definitely loaded with features and solid European glass. I have an Optika6 3-18 x50 on a 6.5CM AR and couldn't be happier. The Optiak5 just cam out, look for a Z-Plus reticle and it will come in well below what you are willing to spend.
