I will never understand the "I'm done until change" people. You are a fan. You are not entitled to a say in the program, and until recently, you never wanted one. If you quit being a fan because you don't agree with decisions by the people who run the program (decisions that have yet to be demonstrated as wise or poor), then you were never a true fan to begin with. Good riddance.

Untie your panties my friend...if I wasn't a fan, I wouldnt be here. The point is to let them know we are pissed. They will do what they want regardless of what we say...but we should still say it.

And hiring a guy without proper vetting, then spending $1.7 mil to make him go away after a year because they couldnt make up is a poor choice. Hiring a coach because he sounds like us is a poor choice.

Honest opinion: terrible writing for a persuasive letter. Agree with your sentiment, but this is not persuasive and is sloppily constructed.

Its not going to be read anyway...not the point. I wrote the email while on a conference call at work. Just blast them. How well its written isnt going to change their mind.
Thats the point of it...I know it will get deleted and they dont give a frick...Really dont care what the letter actually says...just send them. Clog up their emails and let them know this is bullshite.
Haha...yeah, I sent one like that too.

My Letter to the Board of Supervisors

Posted by rjay0705 on 1/9/18 at 12:46 pm
Long read, and probably will do no good at all...but we have to let our voices be heard. Not just the big boosters either. All of us...take a few minutes and send them your thoughts.

Dear Board of Supervisors,

I am sure that this will fall on deaf ears, but as a fan, I must try. Never do I think that fans should have an absolute "say" in business affairs of the University...we are not Tennessee. However, I do think that the fans should have a voice that is actually heard by the powers that be.

I grew up in the Baton Rouge area and have been an LSU fan since birth. Though I now live in Florida, I still bleed Purple and Gold. My kids bleed Purple and Gold and they have never lived in the great state of Louisiana. Point being, being an LSU fan means more than just living in Baton Rouge and being a part of the game day tradition. Its a family, and as of late, the University has been letting us down. All of us...anyone who calls themselves a Tiger.

We have an Athletic Director who despite doing some great things, has absolutely let the biggest piece of the Athletic Department suffer. We have a President who only truly cares about himself and money...though by letting this continue, the school will lose money. We allowed a coach to continue to hold our team back from progression, and replaced him with a coach who has no business running a team, and has completely done a 180 on what he said he would do to get the job.

Now we plan on promoting a guy who has not run an offense in 20 years. What part of that is giving us the best chance to succeed? Its not, it is a power play by Mr. Alleva and Mr. Orgeron to keep us relevant enough to not get themselves fired. But what happens when we lose our prized possession in Mr. Aranda?

We have committed millions of dollars in buyouts to coaches who no longer work here and we continue to not learn from our mistakes. Are we truly going back in time?

My point is, I will no longer support LSU football until some real changes are made that will actually better our great University and bring them back to prominence. No, my support is not great. I do not donate to the university. I do not have the ability to come to the games. But I do buy merchandise and more importantly, I teach my kids what it means to be a Tiger. I will be putting away all of my gear, and I will talk to my kids about why we will no longer support the program. What you will lose from me is a generation of new LSU fans.

I hope I have not wasted my time, and I hope more fans with, deeper pockets, share my views and will join me in protest. I look forward to the day I can be a fan again.

Regards

Former LSU Tiger

Haha...no its not.
Nope...he will get an NFL gig. O will hire "his guy"...we will lose. Thats when O and Joe get fired. #Arandaistheglue

How many 4 or 5 Star QB’s want to play for an ok OC?

None...but he doesnt care. As long as he wins enough to not get fired.

I think a lot of people have missed the OP's point. CEO needs an elite OC to win National Championships. CEO doesn't need an elite OC to stay employed, as long as he has Aranda. Which do you think O is really concerned with, at the end of the day?

BINGO!!

Hes not interested in taking chances and getting fired. We kicked a field goal in the Citrus Bowl. He only wants to go for what he thinks is a "sure thing". As wrong as he is...this is what we are stuck with.

LSU needs a new direction on offense. WE all know that. Unfortunately the ones making the decisions are only interested in job security. Thats why the OP was "O doesnt need an Elite OC"

Completely agree...how long did it take to get Les fired? All I am saying is that he is no longer trying to win a championship...hes trying to save his job.

Not saying its a good move, but hes not going to hire anyone he doesnt know...period.

In his peanut brain...this will work. In reality...it will not. But we are going to be stuck with this for at least 2 more years.

From HIS standpoint, no he doesnt need a good OC. From everyone else's...he needs a miracle.

I think we need an Elite OC. I cant stand the fact that O is our coach and Alleva is the AD...They are in scramble mode right now. just trying to win "enough" games. They are not trying to build a championship.

I hate the Ensminger hire. Just looking at it from a different angle. Its all a load of BS they are cramming down our throats.

Couldn't agree more. But all he wants is to keep his job. Hes not looking at going to Atlanta.

He has the best DC in the nation, and now will have an OC that can implement the system that he wants. Lets face it, with the athletes we have, we will continue our status quo...but we will not compete for championships.

Ensminger isnt a dummy and can call plays. Couple that with a smothering defense and thats a formula for winning 8-10 games a year. Which isnt going to get him fired until Aranda leaves and he gets "his guy" for defense. We are looking at a few more years of this crap.

In no way am I happy about this...but at this point, it is what it is and the only thing we can do is not show up.
Who: Clemson
Why: Over Bama

Fwiw...I work across the street from Raymond James stadium in Tampa and there are way more Clemson fans...at least 20:1 from what I'm seeing so far.

Does Ensminger at OC help win a championship? Because that's what LSU said it wanted by firing Miles...if your answer is no, then that's what's wrong with Ensminger.

If everyone didn't know he meant Kiffin, they sure do now. He says one thing about possibly coaching the the CFP and the next day O says the OC likely won't be hired until after the bowl...
