Grenada to Carriacou

Posted by LF7 on 1/21/24 at 12:14 pm
Looking for suggestions on how to do Grenada and Carriacou in the same trip.

We are staying in Grenada for a 8 days but want to do at least a one-night (two full day) trip to Carriacou. Looking at flights, they are cheap and quick compared to the ferry. Wanted to know if anyone has done this and, if so, where they stayed and the way they got there. Thanks in advance.

Wanted to give everyone an update. I ended up going with the A300.

When I went into Lafayette Shooters it came down to the A300 Ultima ($950) v. SX4 ($1,099). The guy was telling me they are both great guns with the SX4 having the ability to shoot 3.5. I told him that I would only be using it 1-2 a year and mainly for duck, but he said the SX4 you could shoot geese. Then I asked one of his buddies who was there who had an SX4 what he thought, and he said he just has to clean it often but it was a great gun. Like a lot of y'all said, going in and actually holding the gun was super beneficial. I preferred the way the A300 felt over the SX4 for no specific reason. Lafayette shooters employee then said that the Beretta was slightly better build quality than SX4 and that sold me.

Funny enough when we went with our guide this weekend, he ditched his A400 for an SX4. Like a lot of you said it is purely subjective and based on feel. I couldn't be happier with the A300 and was still able to get a limit of specs with only 3in.

Advice on Shotgun

Looking to buy my first shotgun. Budget is no more than $1,000, preferably less. I only go duck hunting 1-2 times per year so I'm just looking for something that holds up well in a closet the majority of the time and will fire when I take it out. Had recommendations for the A300, which is at the top end of the budget, but willing to spend that if it is better than the others at or under its price point.

I am okay with a pump over a semi but would prefer a semi. I would rather have a reliable gun over anything else.

I have searched for a thread on this and found a few from a couple of years ago. I don't know much about this whole industry and how technology changes year to year which is why I am starting this. Any help is appreciated.
I do not think Courtesy in Lafayette understands how to use the slash line.

Got quotes from $5,800-$5,200 and thought it was high. Kept looking and got it installed for $3,700. It was a 3 month wait from first estimate to install, but the savings were worth getting several estimates and being patient.

Toledo Bend Suggestions

Posted by LF7 on 6/28/23 at 1:12 pm
Going up there with a group of 10 guys in mid-July. We have a guided fishing trip set up for the Saturday, but looking for ideas for Friday. Cypress Bend is closed for renovations until Sept. 1 which would have been perfect. Does anyone have suggestions for restaurants and bars on the lake?

Edit: we are staying at the center of the lake on the LA side. We will have a couple of boats down there.

Make a claim for loss of use of the vehicle and log the days you can't use or don't have your vehicle.
I know it is not actually illegal but a 33% increase in a little over a year seems absurd. I guess if people will pay the rate then there is no reason not to do it, especially for those nicer complexes in Baton Rouge.

Yeah, he signed a two year and he is happy he did it.
Have a friend who lives at Park Rowe in Perkins Rowe who signed in March 2021 for $1,650.00. That same unit is listed for $2,200.00 at the moment. A 33% increase in a little over a year seems illegal. He is thinking about subleasing one of the rooms in his place for half of the current rate and basically living there for free. Can't say I would do the same, but I am curious for the number of people subleasing to complete strangers to afford this rent increase.
Cajun Claws in Rayne is about as close to being a drive-through on I-10 as you can get. I've only been there once and the crawfish were real good.

I paid more for my cox equipment rentals(not even including the services) as I do for YouTube TV, HBO, Netflix, and Hulu. If you switch to streaming, really invest in a good modem and router, it makes a big difference with multiple devices.

Check out the throw at the 1:14 mark. Looks similar to a play we saw yesterday.
