An NFL Team Has Offered USWNT's Carli Lloyd A Chance To Kick In Preseason Game
© Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports
After seeing USWNT's Carli Lloyd kick a 55-yard field goal during Eagles practice last week, an NFL Team has reportedly offered her a chance to kick in preseason game. Per Lloyd’s longtime trainer James Galanis...
quote:

“Today, she got another call from another NFL team,” Galanis told me in a telephone conversation on Monday. “The one that called today, I don’t want to say who it is, was willing to put her on the roster for their next (game). They were willing to put her on the roster.”

Galanis continued: “She was told (she could) play on Thursday, the NFL game, but she is playing Thursday with the national team, so that was the conflict.”
I wonder who the team was.

If the NFL wants a stupid "woman in the NFL" stunt atleast get a 21yr old.

This stuff is a stupid publicity stunt. No care.

Of course they would. It's the 4th pre-season game, aka the least attended, least watched, least interesting game of the entire season. They just want to get a couple thousand more people into the stadium.

Stupid...NFL just trying to be politically correct...

On the 55-yard practice kick she needed a 5-step running start. Would take a helluva lot of practice to get the timing down for real game conditions.

this smells like a PR stunt, but if she has a legit leg to kick 55 yarders consistently, I'm fine with giving her a tryout. But I doubt that's the case.

*yawn* Let me know when there's a woman who has a legit chance to play a position other than kicker. Otherwise, it's just a gimmick.

They can't. So, it will always be a freaking PR stunt.

if you are tapping into the soccer market at least go get a guy who can kick it 30 yards past her. This woman might be good but she isn't the best kicker in the world of both sexes.

I don't care what they say. This is nothing but an attempted publicity stunt.

All fun and games until she gets run over after a botched/fake FG attempt.
