Nick Saban Wanted To Fire His Longtime Agent Because Of Lane Kiffin....
Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports
Armen Keteyian and John Talty wrote "The Price: What It Takes to Win In College Football’s Era of Chaos," an incredible book that details Nick Saban's run with Alabama. It reveals the relationship between Saban and then offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, which wasn't great...
quote:

In one of the chapters, it reveals that Saban's agent, Jimmy Sexton, played a role in the legendary coach adding Kiffin to his staff. That's because Sexton also represented Kiffin.

Even though Saban and Kiffin had success at times, their relationship reached a breaking point multiple times. In fact, there was a moment where Saban called Sexton to complain about his offensive coordinator.

"That son of a [expletive]. I’m going to fire you, Jimmy, for ever talking me into hiring that narcissistic prick," Saban told Sexton, via AL.com.

Saban also complained to one of his former assistants about Kiffin. That's because the Ole Miss head coach "refused to adapt Saban’s preferred approach."

Give Lane enough time, and that program will implode at Ole Miss.

You’d think since Kiffin hasnt won jack shite in his career, or even come close to it for that matter, he’d take some pointers and learn from the GOAT.

The best teams Saban ever had were when Kiffin was his OC and it’s not surprising Bama has fallen down a notch and Saban retired since Kiffin left.

The weird obsession with Saban on an LSU website continues.

Sorry, saintslsupels, but you’re talking out of your arse just for the sake of arguing just to argue. Saban won 6 of his 7 national championships without Kiffin. 2015 was the only championship he won with Kiffin as offensive coordinator, and they were just a couple of plays away from losing to Clemson that year in the championship game. No one considers 2015 to be Saban’s best team.

I would say Jim McElwain’s and Steve Sarkisian’s offenses was better and were more efficient.

Lane was wide receiver screen , screen and go. He didn’t want to run.

That was the real problem two narcissistic pricks together don't get along. Saban probably wanted to always be the top prick.
